There used to be a radio station in my area that ran ficticious commercials for "Hiney wine, the wine in a flipt top can." they had Hiney accessories, like the Hiney Warmer, because no one likes a cold Hiney. It was stupid, juvenile, infantile and still funny.
That's how I'm accustomed to seeing the word spelled myself, and how I spell it in my writing, partially because where I originally come from, I have seen the "heinie" spelling as a less-than-flattering reference to someone of German nationality or descent. (Presumably that's based on the Germanic first name "Heinrich.")
Regarding the original thread topic, one cliche' which annoys me is the spankee being punished for qualities which I would generally consider to be positive, notable examples being assertiveness and self-confidence, which the spanker however finds it personally inconvenient for him/her to have.
It's one thing if such a situation is presented as describing injustice and/or mistreatment, that I can accept in a 'dark' story, yet sometimes those attributes being repressed is shown as working to the spankee's benefit, especially in 'romantic' M/F accounts:
"As she sobbed while rubbing her ruby red, stinging-hot derriere, Skye realized that her independent, aggressively self-assured behavior had merely been a desperate cry for that dominant man who would tame and domesticate her, sternly imposing his will over hers through frequently applying his smacking palm to her tender bare bottom. She sighed softly in fulfilled contentment."
Still, I would agree that there are varied reactions to spanking-oriented cliches' by different people, plus of course depending on the type of story involved. While the "May I have another?" request after each swat strikes me as rather silly, except possibly in an old-style fraternity- or sorority-based account, making the spankee simply count his/her licks ("One, ma'am...Two, ma'am...") does often work as part of making him/her complicit in his/her own discipline, perhaps along with requirements that he/she retrieve the spanking implement(s), bare his/her own behind, assume the assigned punitive position and formally request his/her chastisement.
That approach also might be considered a cliche', yet obviously to many readers (myself included) it's quite welcome in a spanking story...
