For me personally what makes my list of favorites is a story that hits home by reminding me of a real life experience or fantasy I've had.

Mati's close analysis of Flogmaster texts is fascinating, but I worry that we're getting too obsessed with stats and popularity ... (and this is from someone who, had he had time and not suffered from such a debilitating dose of phlegmatic English reserve, would have rivalled the late great SPCC, njrick aka Rick Marlowe (whose stories are brilliant by the way), in bare-faced pluggery... AND who has suffered those sad and envy-inducing pangs of feeling overlooked and unappreciated and wondered 'why bother?') (and who writes absurdly long-winded sentences with interminable parentheses and perhaps he should look at that ...?!)

If we analyse too far and too deep might we not spoil the fun and the magic?

We're lost in a vast forest of every imaginable spanking story-type with Woodsman Februs daily planting new saplings in his fevered mission to reach a million in his Lifetime (you didn't know?). If we all start writing stories whose titles start with an A, are between 1200 and 1800 words long and feature a babysitting schoolgirl spankee paddled red and sore before corner time, then a dread uniformity would deaden the place, I fear.

Let us continue freely to write and read what inspires and turns us on, and let readers simply tell us through comments what they appreciate.

Popularity doesn't always mean quality. I agree with TEM, there is no point agonising over things like titles. If you really want to write a story entitled At the Academy we were Spanked, Slippered, Strapped, Paddled and Caned it will probably be crap anyway!

I could not agree more, Mr Blimp.

It ain't broke so no fix-en is required. I loved mati's analysis. It made me feel like I can only count on my fingers. But I would be opposed to any 'buttons' that make it easier for 'rarely-commenting' readers to get by here. Especially since many of us have done much to encourage them to change their ways. Successfully I note via last months stat's. I stand with TEM in all that he said despite his whining since he is the Author of one of the most read and liked series on the site. Crompton THAT! And I agree with Rollin and blimp that quality is better than quantity or celebrity.

I don't drink much beer these days. But I still enjoy a cold lager like a Beck's or if feeling like more flavor how about Full Sails Pale Ale. In this era I tend to favor a good Merlot or Sauvignon Blanc or shots of ice cold Stoly or it's equivalent when getting blasted is in order. Grin!

Februs. Don't change a thing. The fav's section is versatile and works for everyone. You would be doing yourself a favor to just go spank flopsy instead. Much more fun!

I totally agree with TEM, Blimp and others who so correctly say that quality is far better than quantity of reads. The LSF would indeed become a sad place if ALL stories had the same scenario...variety is the spice of life! It is fantastic that the LSF offers such a diverse range of spanking fiction so that there is something on the shelves for all tastes! I myself have a preference for M/F scenario especially romantic or humorous and favour first time encounters for either participant. However I have recently ventured into writing F/M for variety .
Februs' suggestion of a 'must read list' would be quite a good idea. I have often seen stories on the recently loaded list, or whilst viewing author pages, but don't have time at that moment to read them. Sadly by the time I do, I have forgotten what it was or where I found it . So in cases like that a reading list would be useful
This is a wonderful site...so long live the diversity of reading material available!!

We might not agree on ice cream twisted8 but I see you have impeccable taste in lager!! I usually drink dark rum or red wine but if I am having a lager, I like a Becks or Holsten Pils.

I hope nobody thought that my "formula" was a serious suggestion? I was not going to apply as a market researcher at the library.

Anyway the data I mentioned are more ore less artifacts which result from the imbalance of supplied stories. F.e. as only 16 % have an F/M-orientation, but 64 % M/F it's obvious that the few F/M stories are viewed more often. The same is true for stories with children.

Apart from the data I above all would have no interest in any changes towards the mentioned mainstream taste in the stories, as these are mostly not the themes women looking for. There are not many sites on the web, which fits for women. Porn sites and their content is still a male domain. So I'm quite glad that their are some niches like this library, which are not too obscene. Reading novels or stories is anyway out of fashion. Therefore I'm afraid that an author in general, and a spanking author in particular will never have a large audience. Thus said I'm going now to mark some favourites and make some comments to keep the spirit of all authors high.

The authors are fine, Mati! It is the library staff you have to worry about!

My favourite is Blimp... bent over a desk... Ooops sorry wrong thread!!

I have to admit that I have no favourites. I rarely read anything more than once but I don't think there is anything specific that makes one story a favourite and another not for most people, I imagine it to be largely random and as we are finding out, several people use the 'fav' button purely as a bookmark.

Ps lager sucks, whisky and pernod are the only way go to
