Soccer (or "football" as most of the world insists on calling it): hours of boredom, randomly interspersed with brief moments of excitement, most often leading to disappointment. Very much like baseball in that regard. I'd rather watch golf--they almost always hit what they swing at, and a low score is a good thing.

Amen to Graves94. Golf is bestest. Every so often you really have it and cannot be beat. Most of the time, however, you must pull yourself back together and wait. Still, awaiting the thrill of victory is why golfers play. Sure beats the agony of the feet. Heck, just ask that guy named Phil. Believe in yourself and never say die ...

Golf!! Men in loud checked trousers can't hope to compete with the beautiful game!! Last time I played golf, about ten years ago, I suffered a knockout blow (literally) on the third hole. My last words to Mrs B were "You don't hold a club like tha.." I then walked into what felt like a tremendous right hook! Thinking about it maybe it was a right hook!!? No wonder Murrayfield wont let them be members!!

Well, you can just tell them that Germany is still the best team and in all likelihood will win the tournament

You have been so right.

Well, I had to work hard to get that one right! Two missed penalties .... puuuuuhhhh! But I'll share the accolades with Gary Lineker.

I tend to agree with you. However some women's competitive sports such as beach volleyball, gymnastics and some others seem to hold my interest. Also the women's section of Mixed Martial Arts is pretty interesting.

Also the first definition of "sport" in my dictionary is: "That what amuses in general; diversion; pastime." That definition ceratainly describes what the members of this library are interested in.
