Well said Mati! You have almost completely restored my faith in womankind!! England women lost 3.0 to France by the way!! This can only be seen as a perfidious act of treachery by our French neighbours as they had absolutely nothing to play for having already won the group!!

And the Norwegian women beat the German 1-0 which goes to show that there is no such thing as constancy.

Oh, there is a constant pattern in it: Instead of applauding to a team who won every game in the final round over the last twenty years and accepting that even a good team must lose one day, the nation finds itself in a deep depression, desperately searching for an explanation why such a ridiculous thing could happen and summoning the play against Italy as a vital question for the whole nation.

Well, you can just tell them that Germany is still the best team and in all likelihood will win the tournament.

If discussing International football, the following must be noted, Germany always win. It is almost as reliable as another golden rule of International football, England always underperform before losing on penalties. All I can say is I wish I didn't care!!

You just have to think of 1966 and 1066 and all that...

As a football enthusiast I was of course referring to the Battle of Stamford Bridge.

Well, even as Spurs supporter I had to like them back in the days of Peter Bonetti, Alan Hudson and Peter Osgood. Of course, they had the saving grace of not winning anything in those days....
