My first introduction was through magazines,in the early 1960's and even some relatively explicit regular general family magazines, when it was fashionable to write some articles on spanking. Some had to do with parenting. You won't see them anymore.

I also started with the English versions of the magazines Sebastian mentions. The two most important pre-internet publications--apart from Janus etc of course--were a book, Julie at the Reformatory, by 'Angela Elgar', which influenced me a lot, and the nineteenth century erotic novel The Confessions of Dolly Morton, which (deeply racist though pro-abolitionist) has the most erotic switching scene I have ever read.

On the internet LSF was the first site I started reading and I won't miss anymore. One of the first authors I still remember is Wilkin who started just one serial (The Dinner Party). It is a brilliant specimen of the type that I really like. It's uncompleted and unfortunately the author doesn't contribution anymore.

I started reading on a site called the spanking corner. It was a follow up site from SSS. The first stories i read was the Kate General Store by Carolina Jim. I also discovered the stories from Sampast, KFR, John Benson and flogmaster

"THE PEARL" was a classic that was originally published in the 1890's. Now does anyone still have The Pearl Christmas annual, 1898? This was the last and was never published again. It was released in London on Christmas eve 1898. I once had every copy but are long gone.

I read Mrs Mish and Barrister on the old A.S.S and S.S.S. I started reading Crimson Kid because he is such a nice person. He always makes good comments. I like his writing style and how he solves certain spanko story problems; Subbies who always find themselves in trouble, yet still regret it when it's time to pay the piper and Spankers who are playfully cruel, without being over the top hatefully cruel.
He puts thought into solving these problems.
He also let me realize I can write and appreciate F/M even though in real life I don't switch and am always the top.
