Jimisim, dear fellow, surely you do yourself a disservice. Your avatar proclaims you an old boy of Chiselbury School - I find it hard to believe that you could have left the dear old place without a thorough grounding in literature and all the liberal arts.

Regards & Floreat Chiselburium

Brodie

Greetings fellow member of the Old Chiselburians' Association.

Note for non members:-Known affectionately by its members as 'Often Caned Arses'; and very disrespectfully by the lower fifth as 'Old C***ts and Ars****es'.

When I caught the train from dear old Chiselbury to the Uni of my choice for my interview, to my astonishment the interviewer said that my O levels were much more indicative of an applicant for an arts degree.
I realised several decades later that he was probably right and I may have made the wrong choices at 15 and 17.
Fortunately dear old Chiselbury did give me a good grounding in the arts including reading aloud many Shakespeare plays, Latin Iambic pentameters, and even a smidgeon of Ovid and Virgil.
Reinforced very frequently via a smack round the head or if that didn't work via the backside of course.

From the age of sixteen on though it was science all the way.

Keep chiselling away

Jim

I got to about 500 words and realised that I was simply regurgitating the same old stuff that I've written before. There doesn't see any merit in submitting a story which lacks originality so, although this is a subject which I would love to write about, I think I'll have to give this one a miss. I suppose a useful idea will eventually pop into my head but that's unlikely to happen in the next few days.

If people want plot lines:
A non-toppish wife is giving her husband the Christmas / birthday / honeymoon / whatever present that he really wants - a trip over her knee. Does she discover that she likes doing it?

A 23 year old nephew crashing at his aunt's house gets drunk, stoned, and completely wasted. She allows him to sleep in on the morning after, but during the afternoon after she comments about how if he had done that as a teen she would have spanked him. One thing leads to another, resulting in his red bottom.

A research engineer has developed a spanking instrument that will define the European Standard for recreational erotic spankings, but has forgotten to booked a model (or booked a female model that someone cancelled on him) - meaning that when the European inspection team arrives the owner of the company (or the VP who oversees his division) must test it on his backside.

A college student screws up and begs for a second chance, but it comes with a pants down spanking from his beautiful professor.

A male reporter is sent undercover into a sex club - and discovers that while there are spankings and light B&D it's the males who suffer at the hands of the female members.

A college student putting himself through college by peddling his butt (for spankings only, no sex) to middle age housewives who want to get rid of their tension by paddling his backside. To his surprise and shock, one of the women turns out to be the mother of one of his friends - who spanks him anyway, scolding him for his friend's misdeeds.

Yes, I can come up with ideas. Finding the time to write? Now that's the hard part.

Ok, I actually managed to come up with 2500 words that didn't (in my opinion) seem too forced, so my first challenge submission is officially submitted. (Considering that I was perfectly happy with the story at 1600 words, that's saying something...)

@Goodgulf - sorry but writing a story with somebody else's ideas doesn't work for me.

When did 2,500 words get so long? I remember struggling to keep my stories from rambling too far over 5,000 words or so at one point, but looking through my recent drafts I seem to hover around the 1,500 mark. Either I've become more concise or just lazy!

This was a challenge, in more ways than one, but I think I have something thrown together. It still needs a proofread, but that's tomorrow-Kia's problem; today-Kia has earned herself a beer!

(Besides, I couldn't go submitting a story two days before the deadline could I? We may have had snow in Ireland this morning, but I'm pretty sure hell hasn't frozen over.)

I'm sure they aren't meant that way, but aren't these "I've just submitted my story" and it's just xxx number of words hints to challenge readers about where they may expect to see the author's story in the final list (since they are loaded in the general order of receipt)? At the least, it sort of narrows it down.
