Mati's close analysis of Flogmaster texts is fascinating, but I worry that we're getting too obsessed with stats and popularity ... (and this is from someone who, had he had time and not suffered from such a debilitating dose of phlegmatic English reserve, would have rivalled the late great SPCC, njrick aka Rick Marlowe (whose stories are brilliant by the way), in bare-faced pluggery... AND who has suffered those sad and envy-inducing pangs of feeling overlooked and unappreciated and wondered 'why bother?') (and who writes absurdly long-winded sentences with interminable parentheses and perhaps he should look at that ...?!)
If we analyse too far and too deep might we not spoil the fun and the magic?
We're lost in a vast forest of every imaginable spanking story-type with Woodsman Februs daily planting new saplings in his fevered mission to reach a million in his Lifetime

(you didn't know?). If we all start writing stories whose titles start with an A, are between 1200 and 1800 words long and feature a babysitting schoolgirl spankee paddled red and sore before corner time, then a dread uniformity would deaden the place, I fear.
Let us continue freely to write and read what inspires and turns us on, and let readers simply tell us through comments what they appreciate.
