Mine is a cheap attempt at simple alliteration. Nothing more.

Fiona for the character in Burn Notice, one of my favorite TV shows - NOT the character in Shrek.
Blue because I love everything about the sky. Also because it can also mean sad or risque and naughty.

I chose mine years ago soon after taking a refresher French course. It is supposed to translate as "I spank". Pretty clever name for a spanko, huh? The only fly in the ointment is that people assume I'm French or speak French; I'm not, and can only barely communicate in the language.

(I believe it is more proper or usual to use the construction "donner fessée": for instance, "Je veux te donner une fessée", I want to give you a spanking. Strangely, the form "fesse" is also a noun, meaning buttock.)

Sar is my real first name - the "ar" pronounced like "star, car" etc. I didn't have a middle name. When my husband and I were wed, he had Adora added as a middle name. I just put the 2 together as my log in. Sar is actually an old Celtic male name. Adora is "beloved" in both Greek and Italian - my husband's native languages.
I always thought "Billboard" was chosen because BBE frequently quotes lyrics.

In high school French class, our teacher insisted we had to abandon our American names and choose something "French" from a list she provided, to be used exclusively during class. Since my real name starts with J, I thought Janine was the best option from the list. Years later, when I began posting stories and wanted to "protect" my identity, I decided that Janine sounded more exotic and memorable than my given name.

Dweebdotcom is actually a term of endearment from my late girlfriend Michelle. She suffered from Cystic Fibrosis. CF is a vicious disease that preys on our young from birth. Few survive into their 20's. Michelle was the exception surviving into her mid 30's. CF is a pulmonary disorder that affects among other things the build up of phlegm. So much so that it reduces their lung capacity by 30 to 40 %. Michelle spent her last years elbow deep in computers, building them and taking them apart, she was fascinated with them. One day I was acting silly or said something stupid and she looked at me shaking her head said, "You're such a Dweebdotcom". I pretended my feelings were hurt and she held her arms out wide beckoning me to come get a hug and she said,"But you're my Dweebdotcom". Rest In Peace Michelle I Love you.

My best friend's brother used to drive drunk all the time. One day, driving on a suspended license, he was stopped by a traffic cop and, having no license or other ID, made up the name "Joe Smuccatelli" on the spot. The officer asked him to spell it and he couldn't. Busted...

That's my author name (minus the "Joe") and my own version of the spelling. Been using it for years and people know me by that name so that's why I use it. "BogiePhil" is my best friend's ("Joe's" brother) name and the "Bogie" comes from his favorite actor, Humphrey Bogart. Both of them have since passed away and I also use the names to remember them by.
