I would say the effort made regardless of one reading it likes the story or not is worth at least 1 or 2 points minimum.

Point taken.

For what it is worth, I found just 1 story that was worthy of a "1." Also 1 story which I gave a "10;" and lots of "9"s award.

By golly, you're not as tough as you make out ... LOL. Glad you gave out points as they were deserved, that is all one can ask of any reader. Now darn it, I know it was my story that got the 1, but that is likely the highest score I ever get so thank you. Have fun

This Challenge has exceeded 20,000 votes, and that's as good a metric as any to define a successful Challenge. I'm awaiting the results with interest.

I've got three left before I've read and rated them all. Many stories it was, but a good and successful a challenge. I've given fifteen top scores so far. Well done to us all and the best of luck to everyone.

Before anyone say anything, I'd sincerely and profoundly like to apologize. This was not my intention when kicking in four stories and I feel that it is way too much. I'd like to thank everyone, but I also feel that there were so many more deserving stories. I in particular want to apologize to Andromeda. I finished reading the Cartwright story, the last one of all, and was about to give it a ten, but it was ten past midnight in England I guess, because it didn't come through. There were so many stories with such excellent choice of words, so poetic and complete and I wish deeply that I could write more like you do. The funniest thing is that all through the challenge I cursed myself for not instead having uploaded a completely different story, one that I felt would have had a much better chance, being more like the other entries I read. I had it, but decided against it, only to regret it bitterly when starting to read the other stories. It just goes to prove that I don't have any feeling for what goes and not I guess. I sincerely do hope that I did not upset anyone and did not discourage anyone. Your stories were wonderful, imaginative, full of spirit. This challenge held some of the best stories I've read so far and I favorite marked several of them.

No apology necessary Glaga. You won "fair and square" by writing stories that readers scored above all the others. Congratulations!

And Congratulations to the runners-up and to everyone who entered. It was a fine Challenge.

Ha, don't worry about Cartwright story - it turned into a behemoth, so it got what it deserved. It's nice that a winner thought it was a ten - it can't get much better than that. I wasn't particularly happy with either of my stories, to be honest.

By the way, I gave "Natalie" a 9, which is as close as I've ever come to picking a winner. I thought there were several extremely good ones out there.

Well said! I agree... even if he *is* a show-off.

I had one story that I scored the highest (which means it's probably written by Gloup since he tends to run away with these Challenges), b

Called it!

Gloup:

No need to apologize for being successful. You gave folks what they wanted, and if you'd artificially constrained yourself to only a couple of entries we all would have missed out on those other stories.

I came up with 4 entries myself, although "Thrashing a Thief" was the only one I was particularly happy with. However, there was discussion earlier on this board about revenge versus punishment and I think that story fell in the latter category. However, there was no such question about the winning entry; it was well and truly a calculated act of revenge.

A triple whammy for Gloup! And big congrats to the other winners.

We were out last night when the Challenge completed, but could see before we went that Gloup was in 1st, 2nd and 3rd places Don't apologise, Gloup - the people have spoken!

Thanks to everyone for taking the effort to write, read and vote. Well done for participating
