TIPTOPPER

You would be able to accomplished this by waiting until the stories are validated, after the contest and then have the statistical results on how many votes got for each type of story; how many for M/F, M/f, F/M, F/m, etc. You still would not have to indicate the votes for each author. The readers would then know how each kinds of story did in the voting.

WHAT??????? Only three more days to vote on the stories??? The voting ends when? September 21st, you say? I guess everybody'd better finish reading those contest stories and VOTE.

(and good luck to all those who entered)

We have less then 48 hours to VOTE. Total right now is 16858, when divided the total number of 60 stories means that 43 people have voted a possible score for all stories of 400 out of a possible 600 points. READ and VOTE now please folks, the more the merrier.

Yes, my american friend TheMathMaster tells me that previous Challenges elicited the following average number of votes per entry (to the nearest vote, he says):
3. 500 word story challenge = 273 votes average
4. Winter theme challenge = 315 votes
5. Poetry challenge = 237 votes

This one, with 26 hours to go, stands at 282 - pretty good. He points out that the Winter Theme challenge only had 40 entries which may have made it easier for readers to get through them all and vote.

But, he says, another 2000 votes will see this challenge become the ALL-TIME MOST VOTED-ON challenge!! Then he said, "Yay!" which I think means "Hooray!"

I see. If the aim of this challenge is to produce a record in votes, just let me know. I can easily add another 400 votes by giving all stories 10 points.

Btw. giving no points to a story is also a vote!

Thanks to Februs for extending the voting period. I finally managed to read all entries and it was great fun.

Um ... well, no, of course that's not the point. Differentiation is all. Just lots of it, please.

So now we have a contest among the various contests? How curious.

And feel free to differentiate mine all the way to the top.

Winning isn't everything, Rick. You, more than anyone else, should know that...

That reminds me of a local Little League team here whose obnoxious slogan was (and I'm not kidding--this was for REAL): Winning isn't everything, but it's all we know.

I have two more stories to read. I have until tomorrow, Wednesday, before 12 midnight GMT. I found that these stories were truly amazing. I must admit that I have many of these stories with a nine or ten vote. I do have one complaint and that is; there were too many entries. I am not able to read that fast.

I suppose I'm to blame. Without mine, there would be only 59.
