Thank you very much for your kind comments. One day maybe l will let my imagination run across the screen.
I do remember you in the Library Grand Drawing room resplendent in a black-tie outfit clearly from Savile Row performing on the Steinway grand piano to entertain us. During the more energetic pieces your medals moving like coloured butterflies against the black cloth.
Of course, the highlight was when you accompanied Lady Flopsybunny as she sang for us, shimmering in her Chanel or Dior evening gowns the spots of light dancing over the Gainsborough’s and Turner’s hanging on the panelled walls. Her rendition of Italian arias was quite remarkable although as the Merlot loosened up the evening, she did move on to songs from the West End musicals.
There was also Lady DianaMiller who held court from the Louis XV chez long in the Grand Drawing room. Her collection of diamonds was remarkable and she sparkled like soft summer rain in the light from the great chandelier that a Library member had liberated from the Tsar’s summer palace. There were rumours the diamonds came from an Italian Count but no one knew for sure. I can remember her sending the Earl of Essex to Fortnum and Masons for a pork pie and macaroons with just the wave of her hand.
Those were the days..

Was that Diana Miller? I thought it was Mata Hari!

We still have large quantities of those most excellent pork pies. They are regularly put out in the buffet to welcome the new authors.
In fact, (not many people know this) that's how KatiePie got her name. She ate a dozen big ones in one sitting.

That's terrible, and must be corrected immediately.

What a terrible slur! I am a vegetarian and not at all fond of pastry!

Slurs are one of the things we excel at here on the Forum.
