I first got on line in the mid 90's. I quickly discovered a whole spanking world on the internet including many spanking sites with personals such as a site called "The Spanking Page" Almost everything was free back then. You still had to pay for videos but many sites had stills which were free. Spanking drawing sites were almost all free. It was indeed good times and it's all pretty much all gone now. I actually think it would be a nice addition to the library to add a personals section where people can send messages via e-mail with others in their location. Those were free and they were simple but now all gone. Things now days are just far to complicated. It was nice to just go to a site go to the personals click on your state, or country and search for new posts. Yeah, I really miss that.

@Robert56
Did that ever work for you - finding someone to actually connect with?

Well, there might be a steady decline, but isn't this thread just the kind of discussion forum that fills the gap? Many good thoughts come and go on the pages here. Not constantly, but every now and then there is a burst with ideas and comments.

I am not sure this is the right place to post this, but apologies in advance if I am missing something.

I posted a positive comment on Stevenr's excellent story "Sent to be paddled" last week. It was blocked awaiting moderation and has now disappeared without being posted.

If you are wanting to keep this site alive surely you make commenting quicker and easier?

Brosse,your comment was diverted to a popup to the author, which was more appropriate as you referred to him repeating a particular phrase in his story. It's much better to let an author know privately about any little slips than put it in a comment for all to see, avoiding any embarrassment. If you have any further questions concerning comments please contact Februs or myself via email or popup.

Back on topic, I'm not at all surprised at the decline of spanking sites, given the huge amount of time, money and patience required to keep them going.

Well Robert, you could always fund a server and hosting fees, pay to register a domain, pay for email services, pay someone consultancy rates to set up and code a Personals site, pay other people to manage it for you on a day to day basis and deal with all the technical and administrative queries. Or you could do some of it in your free time.

Free time? "Yeah, I really miss that!" We are fortunate that some of our members opt to support the site by subscribing - a modest (non mandatory) annual fee, the price of a small pizza, affordable to all. If it weren't for those subscriptions, we'd have shut up shop some time ago.

A sad day indeed for all of us here, and one we'd wish to postpone for as long as possible. Thank you, therefore, to all subscribers. Library closures are common enough across Britain these days without losing this most hallowed of treasures as well.

I've no doubt that the reasons for the perceived decline in (free to access) spanking sites are many and varied, but underlying them all is the underlying dynamic of someone investing time (in the case of the LSF a lot of time) and more often than not money in order to make something available to others, and those who make use of the actual sites.

I'm sure the majority of people using such sites understand and appreciate the effort (and costs) required to make them available but if our experience is anything to go by there are also a substantial number of people who contribute nothing but have what appears to be a huge sense of entitlement. Worse still, for providers of such sites, is having to deal with ill-mannered and sometimes abusive communications, and rarely a week goes by without us receiving messages of this nature from someone or other.

Over a period of time, even those with a thick skin and a well developed tolerance for dealing with such things, get thoroughly fed up and eventually decide to call it a day. And who can blame them?

I know in my experience, I've seen sites that will go unnamed here, that charge a monthly fee, and for a time provide the service they promise, then while the original site, with the content that brought people like me to the site languishes, they move on to adding new things, often things I'm not interested in, and let teh old stuff that brought me to their site lay waste, and they quit updating the older stuff. I for one appreciate the services, time and energy Flopsy and Februs provide on this site. I've not seen another site that allows or even encourages rank amateur writers such as myself to publish their work.

This is not on the real topic but I take the opportunity to say that while I contribute very little I very much appreciate all that Februs and Flopsy and the many other volunteers do to provide enjoyment to so many users of this site. Long may they and it continue.

I am also quite grateful for this site. I realize that there is a lot of time and energy that goes into keeping any site going. BTW, like everyone else, I really have no free time. All I'm saying is that back in the day, there were a multitude of sites with personals available. I'm sure when that all existed we (I) took for granted that someone had to maintain what I enjoyed. To answer your question njrick. Yes, I met several women for real life sessions through the personals.
