Some 35-40 years ago, I was visiting a cousin, and spotted a paddle on a table in his living room. It bore the logo in the title of my post. Plus there was a picture of a deer with a bear following him. Ever since, I have wanted to own such a paddle. I used to eat lunch regularly in a restaurant where they were sold as souvenirs, and I thought about buying one, but was always too embarrassed. Today, I saw one on eBay, with what I thought was a reasonable buy it now price. So I bought it, and it should reach me by mail in a week or so. One thing I found amusing is the description of the condition as, "used."

If you were in the UK you might need to cool off with a Mr Whippy ice-cream.

I'm not familiar with that brand of ice cream. I'm not even sure we have it in America. We have some good brands of ice cream, though. Baskin Robin, and Angel Food come to mind. Personally, I gave up ice cream over a year ago in an effort to lose weight. Now I don't keep ice cream in the house, but may go to Dairy Queen for a banana split. That's only for special occasions, though, like it being Tuesday.

"Souvenir" paddles like that were quite common back in the day. One of my stories, "Vacation Paddling" features just such a paddle, though not the "Bear Bottom" one. There were quite a few variations like "Bun Warmer", "Mom's Little Helper", "Attitude Adjuster", etc. As I recall, the one you speak of featured a fawn and a bear cub, both with "bare bottoms" and, I think, appropriately reddened. Let us know what it looks like when you get it and if it is indeed "used".

I suppose an expert would be able to tell how much it had been used by studying its "patina".

Ebay is quite a rich source of spanking-related items. I have collected a few spanking postcards from it.

I was visiting Penn's Cave in Pennsylvania a couple years ago and they had that paddle on sale in their gift shop as well as a few others, I remember "Attitude Adjuster", I remember they had a few others but I can't remember what they said on them exactly. They were all over the gift shop so they may have sold well. I do regret not buying one.

That exact paddle appeared in a few Rollin stories. Pretty sure they're no longer on the LSF though.

Sadly, those paddles are now 'Politically Incorrect' in many locations here, though once they were quite common.

Politically incorrect in their assertion that deer are necessarily submissive and bears dominant? Quite speciesist, I agree.
