The use of any kind of footware is comical to me. I dismiss it all together. How in the world can such an instrument administer a meaningfull punishment.

I'd have to disagree with that. I have a great affection for the slipper (ie carpet slipper, not plimsoll) which might be called one step up from the hand. Spanking hurts the hand, as well as the bottom, particulalrly if we're talking of a delicate female mitt applied to a hairy old male backside. To me, adult spanking is primarily about having fun and enjoyment and I don't want to see cuts or serious bruising. The slipper can provide a lengthy spanking, and it will certainly make its presence felt, but there's no risk of any serious damage. I see a heavy wooden paddle as really being quite dangerous, perhaps even more so than the cane.

The worst sting in my experience is a willow switch. Generally speaking, the thinner and more flexible the implement, the higher the speed striking a smaller area. Wood will thud and bruise but thin and flexible [switch, cane, crop] can cut or break the skin. So . . . we stick with the older tried and true belt or strap or hand for the most part. If ever you do use a switch, take care or you may get results you do not really want. Interesting to note that in American history the switch was commonly used, especially in rural schools, and was second only to the paddle.

Well, from my perception flat, sturdy wooden implements, notably hardwood paddles, are more hurtful, yet also more satisfying since I want to be stung quite intensely, than belts, straps or riding crops, but that may be partially because my darling wife seemingly prefers them and feels more comfortable swinging them emphatically.

When a solid wooden paddle makes my naked buttcheeks bounce steadily with its resounding impacts, that strikes me (pun intended) as being a substancial spanking.

Perhaps I'm simply a classic 'Americana' traditionalist... --C.K.

Don't knock it till you've tried it, yankee. A rubber-soled bedroom slipper, as more than one naughty girl whom I've spanked will testify, can deliver one hell of a formidable sting - but as Alan B says, has the advantage that it can't cause any serious or lasting damage. So if you want to administer a severe spanking without bruising, a slipper is ideal.

Thank you PhilK. I am sure you have experience, and results. A footware impliment would be my last choice however . Best wishes. Nite. And I do not want to bruise. Only spank. Nite.

Great response Phil and Februs. Any use of footwear is i still a laugh to me. My desire is to administer a sound spanking, hand or hairbrush. No footware No bruises no real damages. Just a real sting. Nite.

One of my most feared implements, I've found, is a simple plastic fly-swat I picked up for 75 pence. Very light - but evidently packs a devil of a sting, and elicits the most wonderful yelps and wriggles....

The humble wooden spoon is another great implement that you can pick up cheaply and put to great use, and no one looks at you funny when you buy one in the shop, either.
