If it is not a visual impairment problem I think I know what someone would mean by calling the site a pain to use. There are so many useful features on the site it is hard for a newcomer to figure them all out without a comprehensive guide similar to a table of contents in a book.

The problem with writing such an easy to use guide is that Februs adds things so often that he would have to rewrite the guide constantly which would make twice as much work for him. Of course Februs does explain the changes in the Forum when he makes them but in a short time that explanation vanishes so that people who weren't here at the time the new feature was added never hear about it.

There will be a difference of opinion about this as some people prefer to just poke around and see what they can find while others always want to read the directional manual first. The latter group are the people who get annoyed when anything they get new doesn't come with a directional manual.

Yes there is a Help section and it has gotten better since I first joined but it would be easier for many if there were a how-to section for newcomers to help with site navigation.

I can not understand the problem, this is the best and easiest site to read. It would be interesting to find out exactly the problem because it is such a mystery.

After writing chunks of Help and the Author Guide my conclusion is - hardly anyone bothers to read them!!

Tis absolutely true!

If I were a newcomer, I reckon Help would be the first place I would go; but most of the newbies here seem to avoid it and instead go clicking away quite happily at all the different buttons & features. Oh well - I suppose it's more fun poking around to see what can be found ... but THEN they should go and read an overview to help put everything into perspective.

Total Pain to Use? If I can figure it out anyone can. I am old and computer illiterate. That is the silliest thing I have ever heard!

I find most of the features intuitive. In other words, if you have common sense, you soon work it out. This is not true of all sites. What's more, if you have a question or an issue and you use CONTACT US, you get a prompt and helpful reply - again, not always true of others!

This site really is a pain to use. How else would we explain the hundreds, if not thousands, of registered members who've been desperately trying to leave comments on the stories here, but can't figure out how?

(I would have posted this earlier, but it was quite a struggle for me to decipher how to use this Forum. Februs sure has his work cut out for him).
