Yeah, it's neither Deer or Little. It's like someone who took elements of their styles to a degree, but in my opinion was a better writer. This book does one interesting thing--it gives you an actual story line rather than a collection of spanking scenes strung together. The story line is the wife dealing with her sexual repression issues, Ted's frustration and the eventual way this is all sorted out. Spanking is A major plot device but not THE plot itself. And, the characters are interesting and the scenes diverse. A good read.

Thank you, that's quite flattering--I've been kind of distracted lately (this infernal business of earning some sort of living), but hopefully I'll write a bit more this summer. I do like having the guys getting blistered by multiple females... --C.K.

I haven't read the book itself - I was basing my guess on what was on that website.

And I agree - there's a difference between a spanking story and a story with a spanking. I've written a few long ones where the spanking (was present) was secondary to the story line. One that comes to mind (that's on this site) is 'VR 1.0' and it's (set in the same world almost sequel) 'Adventures In VR - Nancy Drew'.

Daria Little is a favorite, because the stories are always plausible.

Hello,

I have just joined this site as I saw the posts about "The Governess" magazine and AKSS.

I wrote a good many articles for "The Governess" during the 1990s and early 2000s. There were 18 editions with a hiatus of about two years after the first 12 followed by the next six. Sadly, the person who set up and edited the magazine died a few years ago. The reason for the break in production and the magazine's subsequent demise was that the editor became bored. I tried to persuade him to continue but to no avail. He lost subscribers after the suspension with issue 12 and was never able to build back up the numbers so I suspect it made a loss despite his attempt to develop the US market. I think with the right approach it could have continued and been successful as it was well illustrated and very well written (but then I would say that, wouldn't I).

I have all 18 copies and all the articles that I submitted to the editor most of which he printed. I loved writing them (for example, 'Clothes for the Assertive Lady'; 'A Short History of Short Trousers'; and 'Shame and Schdenfreude') and spent many hours with enthusiastic fingers pounding a well worn keyboard. I used several pseudonyms. I also came to know 'Curtus', one of the illustrators, who has since become a good friend. The front covers were illustrated by 'Sardax' who has his own website specialising in feminine domination.

If any members would like to know more then I would be delighted to hear from you.

The Governess is sadly missed Wilkinson. It always brightened my day when a new issue arrived. It managed to set the "tone" just right as far as I was concerned. I think their has always been a bias towards M/F writing and AKSS managed to redress the balance. Sardax was an excellent illustrator but Curtus I liked even more. His speciality was sulky youths in petticoats! It is a real shame you couldn't persuade your editor to carry on the good work but there you are, all good things come to an end. Are you able to republish any of your articles or are there copyright restrictions?

Good morning Blimp,

I own the copyright for the articles I wrote so I can reproduce them here. I now have to find them!! I think they are filed away on several very dusty floppy disks. I am off on holiday tomorrow so I shall endeavour to do this after my return.

I shall pass on your generous comments to Curtus and suggest he registers and contributes to this website.

That would be great. I have never seen these articles on the "THE GOVERNESS." It would be quite interesting to me and many of the library readers.

Another find! As this thread started out as one celebrating our favourite stories in the Library, I've found a hidden gem.

The Spanko Party by teddybear had me laughing aloud. It's clever and funny, and deserves more attention than it's had so far.

Check it out.
