I did branch out and write a story called "Whack To The Future" where a lad called Marty and a crazed old guy called Doc travel in time in a car and meet both the Jetsons and the Flintstones who, though separated in time by millennia, both spank their daughters. Well, nobody else was going to write it, were they?

You did and I found it most entertaining.

My favourite era? The current time, but where fantasies can be played out, I still have a thing for navy-blue knickers!

From surrealistic to ritualistic

It depends on how much escapism I'm looking for, I suppose.

One imagines that being transported to another era where "men were 'real' men, and women were content bottoms" would make fulfilling our desires "easier," but I wonder how much that would be really true. I rather imagine that people from any other era, might have been wondering in the same ken how much more easy it would be to spank during OUR era (for various other reasons)!

Facilitation aside, accouterments and procedures of one era or another is usually the factor that "gets the juices flowing." In that regard, if we are going to imagine ourselves in a situation beyond our normal experiences, then why not go wild imagining a different era to boot?

I don't consider any one era to be a favorite. I can imagine being a caveman and being the first to consider the striking of the female behind repeatedly to be the fastest way to express and enact my frustrations. Or perhaps as a roman gladiator who think the best way to best my Amazon opponent is to take her over my knee and humiliatingly spank her in the arena, publicly (for Caesar's pleasure, of course). Or as a rouge "Jack the Ripper" type who spanks the 'soiled doves' in the fog ridden nights of Newcastle. Or as a Cybergeek of the future who creates nano-spank-bots (REALLY have a problem with the confusion that causes with British slang of referring to a behind as a "bot", instead of ro-bot) to get revenge on co-eds who never gave a geek like me the time of day.

So, yeah, there you go. Any era will do for me.

I like Victorian England and 1950-60s US. I just think those periods lend themselves best to storylines. I remember an ad for a movie. It was called Please turn Over. Set in a fifties suburb. The ad featured a teen girl getting spanked over her father's knee. And started out " why is a 16 year old girl getting spanked?" Then went on to tell about the book she wrote based on her family and their various foible. I want to say this was mid-60's. Nobody seemed to think anything was strange about this...fwiw I would love to find that trailer

Pleistocene era! Unfortunately there aren't many of them, which is too bad because you have "homo ERECTUS" which sounds very sexy. And how cool would a paddle carved from a mammoth tusk be?!

You could, theoretically, get a paddle carved from a mammoth tusk today!
There's supposed to be a Mammoth Mine in Siberia, digging out mammoth skeletons from a terminal moraine where a now-melted glacier scraped along a riverbed, collecting the bones of mammoths who'd died crossing the river over centuries of annual migrations.
I've seen straight razors with mammoth-ivory handles on Ebay, so a mammoth-ivory paddle is at least possible - if pricey!

Ah but then it would only be like re-enactment of a Pleistocene spanking and not an actual one in that era.

True - but I'd probably prefer the re-enactment version - Raquel Welch in a fur bikini is more my idea of a spankable cavewoman than whatever hominids actually existed back then!

I like the postwar--late 40s and 50s because there was some CP in schools, although in my part of the US there was none in public schools but some in Catholic schools especially the nuns armed with rulers. One key factor was that there were older teachers who remembered that when they may have been in school, spanking and other such practices may have been allowed. I heard teachers bemoan that discipline was truly effective in those "olden" days. However, the strictest teachers when I was in school--50s and early 60s--were young and female. They couldn't spank but they would fail you in Conduct at the slightest offense in the classroom. And they didn't bother bemoaning their lack of authority to spank.

Mid sixties for me as it was the time of most of my spankings and puberty so always the 'go to' place for my head

The 1970s, which is when I went to school, is definitely my favourite era. Just the whole nostalgic feel of that time is a very powerful, key component for me, and adds greatly to the thrill of reading school-based spanking stories. I'm not familiar with that film, but can attest that knickers were often on display in those days, and having my legs slapped for looking was a particular significant moment in my existence, and explains much about me today! ️
