As the milestone of 25,000 submissions is about to be reached in a couple of days time, flopsy and I turn our thoughts towards retirement and perhaps a small secluded dwelling in Bhutan. Pipe and slippers beckon... well perhaps we'll give the pipe a miss unless it's a shisha but slippers are a must!

I am not a writer, but if you stop accepting submissions after the 25,000 i fear that there are a few serials that are unfinished. Which would be a shame.
Or i misunderstood this massage and it is a call for someone to takeover the running of the site.
But i wish you all the best in the future.

You will be sorely missed, peace my friends, I wish we had a going away party for you and I could meet you and many of the remarkable writers I enjoy, turk

I am happy for you and wish you both well and happy times in retirement. I have a feeling that the site will continue to exist and stories will still be coming in under new management. I hope this is the case.

The secluded dwelling and the slippers sound divine. I even like the smell of a pipe although I wouldn't want to ever smoke one. But Bhutan? A cabin (with internet access, of course) beside a lake or ocean sounds much more relaxing to me. But to each his own, and it is who you are with that really matters.

That said - I can't believe that you are serious! Perhaps this is an experiment to judge the reaction? As mean as that would be, I hope that is what it is. Or wishful thinking maybe.

IF you are really retiring, I would miss you terribly, but would wish you every happiness.

Someone has a warped sense of humour While the idea of getting away from it all in Bhutan has some appeal, we're not going quite just yet. Besides, Februs has realized he won't be able to watch Manchester United matches in that corner of the world! And furthermore, they don't sell rubber soled slippers over there.

It was meant as a joke and not to be taken seriously. So we're staying put.

Thank God! I still have all those story re-works (and likely re-re-works) to get to you!

Thank goodness it was all in jest. I almost panicked there!

Hopefully the Library is a labour of love for you that will long long continue.
