Guy:
Can we expect that it will be freshly polished? What about the official scepter (paddle)?

Absolutely! I wore the old finish off the paddle, but I've given it a new coat of shellac and waxed it up good so it's ready to go!

If one single person enjoys my story I'll be delighted...regardless of the results.
The challenge has added 65 new stories to the site in a very short space of time...what's not to like??

Februs:
4. People's voting will be influenced by whatever genre, orientation, ages etc are featured in the story. Those writing F/M for example are likely to be at a disadvantage.

That might be an idea for the next challenge Februs...F/M stories only.
Just a thought.

Please No! The charm of these challenges is that they cover all the spectrums and if you don't like the genre you've no need to read the story in question.

Fair enough.
Having little chance of winning has never stopped me from entering so it's certainly not a game changer as far as I'm concerned.
As I said, it was just a thought.

.....or write for a genre in which you have no interest.

......or enter the challenge in the first place.
Let's face it, there's always a choice!

You are right - some decisions will result in less inclusivity though.

Well I finished reading all the entries sometime last week or so, and all in all I think it was a wonderful challenge. There were stories I liked, stories I thought were so so, and a few I really liked. Regardless of everybody pitching a fit about voting and pairings, I still think it was a great challenge.

Like Penmask, I have finished reading all 65 stories and enjoyed each and every one. This was (in my opinion) the best challenge so far. Thanks to all the brilliant authors who gave me many great hours of reading. Thanks also to the staff who have put many hours of their time in on this challenge just for us!
