Letter Challenge February 2012

I have broads on my mind a lot. More so than skates, for sure.

Ahhhh, since this is a leap year could we get a one-day extension of the submission deadline to February 29th?

Letter? Does one write letters these days?

That makes it a challenge, doesn't it? (I guess that's why they CALL it a "challenge.") To make it work, you pretty much have to decide to do something historical (going back 15-20 years at least!), or pick one of the few situations today where people still do write letters.

An email is a letter. It is just sent electronically instead of by the Postal Service.

True. But how many emails ever reach a length where it could contain a 1,000-word story? Because of the possibility of near instant exchanges, seldom does anyone go to the trouble in an email of relating anything in great detail, figuring more can be filled in on the next email. I guess there could be a series of email exchanges. whether all in one day, opr spread out over a period of time as the story itself develops.

Just bumping this up for attention. Only 1 week left for entries before voting time. How come we only have 25 submissions so far? Are you letter-writers procrastinating?
