I decided to comment on this topic to bump it back to the top of the forum, so that it's less likely to be missed by prospective contestants.I'm still considering whether to enter myself - I don't want to tell just any old story in a letter format, but rather to find one that begs to be told that way. And then, of course, I actually have to WRITE it.

I believe the rules state that you can write wearing any kind of fish, though wet ones are preferred.

Don't worry. We are extremely broad-minded.

Probably be supporters of Portsmouth FC then!

(ie Skates-a very rude insult-which can be explained if needed!)

Explanation of Skates:
It may be true or apocryphical, but it is said that lonely frustrated male sailors on long voyages used to gain relief by having relations with a skate, if they were lucky enough to catch one.
Portsmouth is a navy town and Southampton supporters call them Skates.

Very childish I know.

So...why were skates considered more optimal for this purpose than any other cartilaginous fish?
