Norman's thinking about Gor changed significantly along the way. In the first book he actually released a slave girl thinking he was doing her a favour. In later books this is never mentioned, but the Gorean philosophy probably would have seen the girl either enslaved again or killed by her own family for shaming them. The slave girl stuff became very boring, page after page of talking about Gorean slave philosophy. I'm sure that he simply changed the names in a couple of the books devoted entirely to slave girls and republished them.
