The only one that I wrote: "The Red Room". It's based on something I read when I was ten year old. I never chanced upon the original later and it certainly had no spanking in it. It happens on a very windy and rainy October night in a Inn where tired salesmen seek shelter.

My cartoonist's mind has just clicked into overdrive. Can any other of the "more mature" members here imagine a story entitled, "Trick or Treat at St. Trinians"?

For the younger ones, St Trinians was the subject of a series of movies about a college for young ladies (?), set in England during the 1950s. Having thought about it, I now need to take more of my medication!

Reading Padraig`s post has woken up my grey matter. St Trinians would be an ideal setting for a trick or treat story and as I do not subscribe to all the nonsense that goes on at this time of year prankish young ladies getting their comeuppance would bring a big smile to my face. The girls at St Trinians wouldn`t need a lot of encouragement as they are a bunch of mischievous minxes at the best of times and " Halloween" would just furnish them with an excuse for even more outrageous mischief and mayhem. I know what Padraig is talking about when he mentions medication, I watched St Trinians 2, The Legend of Fritton`s Gold recently on tv and schoolgirls didn`t look like that in my day !

Like wise Ronald Searle's other school creation - Nigel Molesworth and the boys of St. Custards. He was no stranger to the cane "as any fule no". Was there any recorded episode of the girls at St. Trinians being caned?

Look's like I won't be posting a Halloween story after all - at least not on time. I started a bit too late and while several people jumped in to help proofread the story still isn't at the level it have to be for me to send it in to the library. Just too many little problems remaining in it.

I'll post it to spanko.net (where all my stories first see the light of day) but odds are it won't be validated until after Halloween. And since I know some of you are thinking "It's good enough for spanko.net, not good enough for here?", that's not what I'm saying. On spanko.net when I spot a typo I can just go in and edit the post while ... let's just say it's not quite as easy to change things when they are in the library. And while I keep referring to typos (which are the bulk of the problems) there are also somethings "oops - I meant to explain blah before something happened" problems that need fixing.

I'll post a link to the story when it makes it to the spanko.net board and, probably in a week or two, post it here as a late Halloween story.

I've just had a new story loaded today in time for Halloween: a dark, supernatural tale titled, "Full-Moon Halloween Night"

I doubt if the girls of St Trinians would have had any time for the ghastly trans-atlantic festival of halloween, which has been jumped on by UK supermarkets et al to increase their profits by selling pumpkins and other items of tat at ridiculous prices and profits.

Come on Jimisim! Anything that gets grown women to wear school uniforms, nurse's uniforms, and Princess Leia slave girl costumes can't be all bad!

Goodgulf is a slave to quality, but the results show in the excellence of his work, which is greatly appreciated.

Awesome job, Janie, and an awesome story! HAPPY HALLOWEEN everyone!

A day late but, nonetheless, I can't praise this story highly enough.
Don't miss it!

I feel the same about Janine's story, Corncrake. Well worth a read, even after Halloween, or on any night!
