I think one problem is that you're a relative. You may be close enough to your niece and nephew that they may try to "play it off", assuming that they are unaware of your "kink". The only way to tell is observation of future conversation and behavior.

I've encountered plenty of young women over the years who have made jokes or other comments about being spanked, and it has been painfully obvious that they were not actually spankos. The old, "Ooh, I might like that too much!" line. Hell, I had an older woman, my employer at the time, make that comment (I'm a cook, and she was the restaurant owner; she had blundered on an order she turned in to the kitchen, and I made a joke about spanking her ... actually, I wrote a story about the fantasy that followed that real-life situation - I need to dig that one out).

It makes me wonder if the kids were not just playing up their knowledge that their uncle was a spanko and wanted to let him know they knew?? I agree with many others, if not spanko's then they are likely by now, which is not surprising as spanking often runs in families.

Not convinced to be honest. In Poland it's a rite of passage to be beaten with a belt by your peers on your 18th birthday, and I'm not aware that this rather conservative country produces a huge number of spankos. I think it's a bit of group fun, with admittedly sexual undertones, which you can safely indulge in as it's within acceptable mores.

I've never kept it any secret from my nieces that I have a spanking fetish because I don't see anything wrong with it. There isn't any health risks like there is with sex so why should we all let ourselves be herded into closets just because there's a lot of silly neurotics these days with irrational phobias about even mentioning the subject? An important lesson spanking has always been beneficial in teaching is that as adults we don't have to be afraid of many things we may find frightening as children. Like having somebody yelling at you spanking isn't really a big deal to get all bent out of shape about. It's just a boundary marker. Some people are more comfortable with pushing boundaries than others. Some people need boundaries more than others. We don't all have the same boundaries and attractions because diversity is beneficial to human survival. We're all individuals before anything else and shouldn't be trapped in stereotypes.
