I expect one might find that the story conformed to the stereotype imagined by a writer here who titled her story something like "another two naughty schoolgirls get a bare bottom spanking" in a cynical effort to get more reads.

I’ve toyed with it enough to get some fun results. You have to keep tweaking as you go and certainly the result isn’t as good as one any good author here would write. But it’s fun and surprising to see what it comes up w and can feel spontaneous. You just have to be okay w weird things coming out of left field like ai not understanding concepts any human knows.

Would anyone object if I generated a story using ai assistance to be uploaded here? Like would that offend ppl? Haha maybe I shouldn’t say it’s ai and see if ppl guess

I’ve for sure had it generate spanking stories and frankly the one usually reining it in to not be outside bounds of what I’m comfortable with.

To write stories using AI, the best medium I've seen so far is Character.ai. As it functions like dialogues, it's possible to have great control over what is being written, as well as to test different types of responses. From what I feel, much of the creative effort remains with the author. The text follows the direction the author wants it to take. Even if it's not for creating a story, it's quite enjoyable to play around with different possibilities of responses and reactions. I haven't had serious problems with censorship specifically on the subject of spanking.

It set the story in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It knew the character's real name and other details from Happy Days.

Another seed: In 1984, Michael Landon spanks Alison Arngrim on her bottom with a switch.
The bot knew what TV show they were on, which characters they played, how Alison Arngrim's character was in a feud with Melissa Gilbert 's character, and that Michael Landon played Alison Arngrim's character's father...

Okay, that last one was a mistake on its part. It also loses track of relationships - once confusing a character who started as a babysitter before turning her into a girlfriend, lover, and wife.

As you can tell, lot's of discrepancy and use of familiar names and descriptions from well known works. Also a bit disjointed. Don't think we writers have anything to fear, for now, but it is quite evident that they've come a long way in a short time.

I have played around with this for a while and its possible to generate a storyline which is reasonably coherent. The style may jar but by repeatedly requesting paragraph rewrites something more acceptable may emerge. A frustration I have is the prompt for future story direction. This seems to have little or no effect on what actually emerges and hence gives the human author little control over the storyline.
Given this, I will continue to write my own unaided in the hope the LSF readership enjoy them.

I just tried this with an unfinished story of my own, and the generator did in fact come up with a scene which was in my original story, which I found interesting, because I had used the idea of that scene from an existing well known vanilla story

I have tried to get the program to develop stories based on the early Doctor Who series. I have done this because I can see they already have sufficient background on the characters and scenarios to generate material which is consistent with what has gone before. Also of course from our point of view those early tales feature a mischievous teenage girls living in a family environment aboard the Tardis. Current stories are of course very different.
And in fact, with patience, the output can be quite good. Not out of line with the Doctor Who story I submitted here several years back.
As I said, my major frustration is inability to control the story direction

I've found a trick that gives a bit more control: Editing the story it has already produced. Delete some of what is there, edit the words, and that shifts the story... But you still don't have total control. I've also found using adjectives such as cruel and mean will keep it from becoming another "doing it for own good" story.

For those of you playing with AI, I have three questions. 1) Are there any particular hardware requirements, i.e. can you use any computer or even a tablet? 2) Are there any security concerns with using these programs? 3) How do you store the stories that are generated; can you download them to a flash drive (yes, I'm old-fashioned)?
