It would have had to be someone more senior than us, if that was the case. But, in reality the old boy network would most likely have moved him to a position in another section, on a different site, so he could start again with another group of new recruits.
It was very unnerving at the time. I worried that I was going to come up against someone else like him, and it might have been a promotion or a big pay increase which I would lose out on. From what I heard I think I was very lucky, a lot of the younger staff were faced with difficult choices.
I got lots of propositions but as I became more senior it became easier to brush them off, and a romp in the store cupboard during the Christmas party didn't really appeal.
I don't think things will ever be perfect, but we have come a long way.
