Still thinking about a spankee's motivations. How about Ritual - this could include such things as Sorority initiation rituals, or traditions such as the Czech Easter pomlazka whippings?

Penalty, as in the loss of a bet or game.

Prestige. Becoming "the toughest of them all" for being able to take the most spanking in a competition.

And how about "Beauty Contest"? Being blessed with the prettiest rosiest bottom after having participated in a beauty contest in which all the girls were spanked, and the resulting rosy bottoms were subsequently compared against each other and ranked.

Now that is a very good reason for a spanking

I think gaining Prestige or winning a Beauty Contest would both be examples of 'Benefit' - interesting ideas for scenarios, though!

Good list, thanks. I get the feeling that in writing any fiction, character motivation is the most common thing to skip or underplay, but without it a story just doesn't grip.

Spanking-wise, I particularly like Curiosity and Ritual, but have found they don't appear that often.

Perhaps it's time to consider motivations for spankers. Some will be the same as for spankees, such as Altruism, Benefit, Curiosity, Enjoyment, Intimidation, and Ritual. Others might include Correction, Domination, and Revenge.

How about Lust?
