DianaMiller:
I've only found out about my interest in my late teens and met my now husband shortly after. We're keep our play to ourselves

Well that's intriguing. Can you share more?
I found out my own interest probably in my early teens. Fortunately I did find a partner much later on. Thank you to (the late) Mrs. Often.

I probably could, though I'm not sure what part is intriguing. Discovering the interest relatively late or how I met my husband?

Discovering the interest

Can you share how you discovered your interest?

Strangely enough, I can't remember much detail or pinpoint a certain event that might have triggered it.
I think one of the triggers was this scene from the movie Live Nude Girls. Sexy woman, gorgeous bottom, and she likes it! I was around 16 years old when I stumbled on that movie on tv.

Around the same time we discussed medieval times in literature class at school, which included the position of women in those days. I remember wondering what that would be like, having to submit to your husband. Growing up in West Europe in the 90s and early 2000s, I had to come to terms with that fascination so the first spanking stories I looked up were mostly about English teens being spanked in school (in the days that was still common) and stories set in Victorian or medieval times.

And what might also play a role for me is the idea of having the guts to be rebellious and facing the consequences. I was always very much a goody-two-shoes for fear of consequences.
I guess it's complicated

Ah, Dana Delaney in "Live Nude Girls" - a very delightful scene.

Re: Live Nude Girls. I still recall walking into a video store (remember those?) to rent the VHS (remember VHS?). I already was aware the movie contained the spanking scene and had to see it for myself. It did not disappoint.

A bit off-topic perhaps, but I have a question for Diana Miller (or anyone else who may have lived in the Netherlands) -

Years ago (30?) I had a friend who moved to Amsterdam with her husband and their child when he (the husband, not the child) was assigned there for his job. She reported that, upon moving in, she was informed that there were "rules for walking" that had to be followed. Is this (was rhis) really the case? And even more importantly, if so, what was the punishment for an infeaction? (I know what members HERE would want it to be, but if the language doesn't even have a word for it...)

(Note that this situation truly had an international flavor - my friend was the daughter of Cuban expatriates who fully intended to return home once the Castro regime was overthrown; her husband was Russian; they met in Spain while both happened to be living in Philadelphua; the son was born in New Jeresy; and the company that reassigned the husband to Amsterdam was Israeli-owned)

Rules for walking? The only thing I can think of is having to stick to the pedestrian areas, so use the pedestrian paths when they are available, stick to the side of the road when sharing with cars and bicycles, and use the zebra when there is one. Nothing that sounds outrageous to me.

As for penalties, nothing spectacular I would think. Probably a warning or small fine from the police.

Worst thing that can happen in Amsterdam when you dare walk on a bicycle path is you'll be victim to a bombardment of swear words from one of the locals. They love clueless tourists (I have a story in the idea stage about exactly such a scenario ).

Yeah, I figured the answer would be boring.

There are some words in Dutch that mean "Spanking".
Billenkoek comes to mind. The literal translation: billen = buttocks, koek = cookie.
Pak slaag is very common. Literal: Pak = amount or dose, slaag = hitting.
There are many other different words used to describe "spanking" in Dutch literature.
It is left to the imagination and creativeness of the author to come up with an expression.
Diane Miller referred to both words I mentioned here.
