For me, tattoos are in the same category as graffiti, lima beans, liver, and hot dogs.

Uhmm... does that mean that it's good or bad? Iusually don't like liver, but I can kill for a decent hot dog.

Another girl I encountered, this time at a Crimson Moon party, had W tattooed on each bottom-cheek. You can probably work out what that spelled when her cheeks were slightly parted...

I am imagining the reaction these tattooed ladies are going to get in a few years time, when they're in care homes, having their bottoms wiped by young women on minimum wage.

There have been some great cartoons on what happens to tattoos when age and gravity have their way with the body.

I agree a small butterfly or fairy on a woman's shoulder can be sexy, but that is where it should stop.

As for blokes, when their bodies are tanned, muscular and lean they can get away with it, but on white land whales they look awful.

Facial, neck or finger tattoos, NEVER.

Sometimes when I ride on the Stockholm subway it seems sort of like a mobile art museum with all the tattoed men, women and minors! But it is not great art!

Did the ancient Norsemen have a tradition of tattoos? Or are the contemporary tattooed images you see of them just fictional science-fantasy artworks?

Funniest "awkward, unwanted tattoo" story I heard was one where a guy got a big tattoo of a naked woman on his arm when he was in the Navy and was drunk one night.
Later he became a preacher, may have been Southern Baptist, and could never wear short sleeve shirts!
Its true, years ago the conventional view of tattoos was that the only ones who had them were sailors, biker gang members, or ex-convicts. That is definitely not the case now. They are generally, though not completely, accepted in society.

I think the problem here is that tribals were so incredibly popular for a few years and for some incomprehensible reason it was also popular to make your own tattoo, which 99% of the times look godawful. I think it's much less common to have actual figures here, compared to the rest of the world.

I think all of my nephews and nieces are tagged and they work as banker, plumber, lawyer, kindergarten lady, secretary, nurse, headmaster, doctor, personal trainer, truck driver and so on. Most of them have the tattoos where they won't show when they have their work gear on though, even if there are some ill-thought-through examples.
