Speaking as a Gen Z (age 20), I would absolutely NOT want to grow up in a previous decade. I had far fewer cultural references to spanking and far fewer chances to witness corporal punishment than those growing up in the 50's, sure, but I also grew up with the internet and in a far more accepting world for LGBTQIA+ people. Homophobia, transphobia, racism, sexism, xenophobia etc etc are very much alive and well in 2020, but on a different scale to the 60's. I wouldn't want to hve grown up with the systematic discrimination evident in the 60's.

Speaking of Melody, that's one of my favourite films! I thought it was a very heartwarming, sweet film and was utterlty delighted when the slippering happened as I wasn't expecting it. I highly recommend watching.

Yeah. Right now is the best time in history, even with the problems we still have.

And I'm hopeful that I'll get plenty of spanking experiences even today - as some of you have said, people are a lot more open now than in previous decades, which should make things easier.

I agree with what you say about how much better so many things are now as opposed to previous decades.
Nonetheless, I have to say that compared to ten or fifteen years ago the spanking scene on the Web is pretty barren, at least in terms of the type of sites that interest me. The only ones I regularly visit are here, Bottomlines, and the Chicago Spanking Review. Everything else I liked is mostly vanished or dead.
When I first started looking for spanking material online in 2005, I regularly visited SIN, Spanking Classics, World Spanking Forum, Spanking Community, and several others. There was Spanking Pages which had both a Yahoo and an MSN group.Later came Happytails, MySpankingForum, and others. Now all gone.
Yes, its true I prefer discussion boards and stories to blogs and videos. But even those have declined. Loved AllThingsSpanking, now gone. And Chross, now mostly dead and spammed. And I really don't care for the Facebook style social media type stuff, or for bdsm.

Frankly, I think some of that comes down to the overall decline in popularity for discussion boards and blogs. I can't remember the last time I posted on a forum or discussion board other than this one. My closest friend hasn't used one since 2012, and even then it was for a far more mainstream interest - video gaming. Maybe it's a generational thing, but forums and discussion boards feel somewhat outdated to my modern eye, though I enjoy this one tremendously. I think the way BDSM has gradually become more and more mainstream has somewhat harmed our ability to group as spanking enthusiasts - I think a lot of spanking enthusiasts end up seeking out generic BDSM spaces rather than spanking-only ones, as there's a far greater pool of people to talk to.

I could be talking nonsense, of course. These are just the thoughts of someone who missed the 'golden age' of online spanking communities, but who has some wonderful friends made through the spanking community and has had the joy and privilege of doing spanking scenes irl with some of them.

Well, then you're kind of saying that there actually ARE venues out there.....but they don't suit your tastes. That's a bit different from saying there aren't plenty of venues out there. My blog and the blogs of my online friends are evidence of this. The crowd does tend to be 50-ish....though not exclusively.

Also, there are all kinds of blogs. Some are almost entirely image oriented, others are more like personal journals, others have regular daily features, and others have specific niches they cater to. Each blog has its own personality and flavor......but there are still so many I would think there'd be something out there to satisfy just about anyone. Mine is quite eclectic.....but admittedly only appeals to a certain type of person.....and that's fine with me. Still, perhaps if you overcome your disinclination to blogs, you might find several to your liking?

The issue I have with blogs is that they are not interactive. Yes, you can comment on an existing topic started by the blog owner but that is all.
What I love about message boards or discussion forums is that you can both participate in ongoing discussions, but also start a new thread on a topic that interests you, and hope for responses.
I really miss all the discussions I used to engage in on Spanking Classics, World Spanking Forum, and the old SIN Board. Sometimes, exchanges would get headed and even vicious. Thats when good moderators are needed, to combat personal attacks and harassment, and the posting of inappropriate material. For example, Classics had a no discussion about spanking of minors rule which they enforced and that made it a more pleasant site to visit than some others.

I believe the site is: https://consensualspanking.blogspot.com

(No "t" in the URL). There are some recent words re: COVID-19 and that they are self-isolating. During a quick review I did not see anything about the site closing.

A few years back there were a number of sites that listed spankings in mainstream novels. I searched for a reference the other day and only found one site, which was not the best.

I remember a site that had a very long and detailed list, can anyone remember it's name?

Also as this is a literary site it would be nice to have these classic novels archived here somewhere.
