French Beer

There are many world class French biers for the simple reason that most of the French breweries have been situated cheek by jowl with the Belgian breweries in North-East France for centuries. During the wars between Germany and France of the 17/18th C, many Belgian brewers fled to France, settled and imported their skills.

The French have a long tradition of importing ideas and people from surrounding nations and making them their own, and Opera falls into that category.

Nothing wrong with French beer. Having once lived in France I have sampled a great many. All in moderation of course! Not so keen on American and Australian beers but maybe I haven't tried the right ones. I like German beers in particular.

The Old School brewery in Lancashire occasionally features at our local, but the most CP-related title they have is "Detention"
