SSS was where I originally posted my stories. Unfortunately, after being attacked several times, I stopped writing for the group. Then I found the Library and re-posted most of my stories here. This has always been a good place to post.

I was part of ASS and then SSS in the early days, posting some stories and joining in threads.

When it got bad I stopped.

Somehow Flopsy tracked me down and asked if they could post my stories here.. so glad she did!

I remember (fondly) some of the characters from then who are on here. Sort-of like a loose-knit family who share my kink.

Thank you for letting me know about Domino. I met her once in the UK but sadly lost touch. She was a very nice woman who introduced me to a wonderful scene movie Preaching to the Perverted.

I remember using the news groups and SSS was my favorite and one day they were just gone. what happened to them?

They didn't disappear overnight. They gradually declined in popularity, and fewer sites and sources provided access to them. Some of them are still around and active to a limited degree. Last I checked rec.arts.sf.written was still getting on-topic posts.

After posting declined, SSS, which was a moderated group, eventually changed the moderation algorithm to "Reject all" thus effectively closing that group, when there was no responsible candidate to assume the moderation duties (and pay the bandwidth costs).

I can tell you that my good friend Domino passed away this past winter. Also, my close young friend PP (pucker princess) died a few years back. I'm so sorry for the sad news. Both things have taken the winds out of my sails for a while now.

I am very sorry to hear that. I have fond memories of Domino, one of the very few SSS posters I ever met in person (on only a single occasion). I have good memories of many who I knew only through electronic contact. I was very sorry when SSS in particular, and newsgroups in general declined to almost nothing.

I'm sorry to hear that, especially about Domino, she had a sharply-pointed wit and certainly wasn't afraid to state exactly what she was thinking.

I enjoyed our discussions about Nadia Salem's Rejuve Universe stories, we didn't always agree (I was somewhat more supportive of Nadia's writing than Domino was) but there were a few interesting exchanges.

SSS could be pretty 'rough-and-tumble' at times, yet to me the sporadic 'flame fights' weren't all that difficult to avoid involvement in...

SSSville's decline happened during a very bad period in my life when my access to the net was very limited. Part of me is selfishly glad that I didn't know as the news would have spirreled me down even further.

DLandhill, I have never met anybody from either SSS or here for that matter. I did start and email relationship with Daria, whose stories are posted here. We shared story ideas and sent each other our stories before they were posted a couple of times. Then she was gone. From what I have gleaned, nobody knows what happened. If anybody does know, I would be interested in finding out. I loved her writing. Also, if anybody lives in LA and wants to meet and have coffee I would love to meet some other like minded friends. (No this is not a personal add). Talk about stories and such.

I had some email exchanges with Daria also, but not as extensive as the ones you describe. I had similar email exchanges with a number of posters on SSS. And extended discussions on the group itself, which i think can still be read via Google groups. I have no idea what happened to Daria, i am sorry to say. I enjoyed her stories and would hope she resumed writing and posting here. And I can recommend them to others. Most of them have schoolgirl or teenaged female spankees, as I recall.

I also recall some fairly extensive email exchanges with John Benson, but I never met him in person. Quite a few others who were active posters to SSS now have work on this site. A number of others are archived at Laura's Spanking Corner, which is still online although it hasn't been updated in years.

I am on the US East Coast, or your suggestion of a get together might be tempting.
