Hmmm, six years hence, we have a question here. I would certainly hope that John is still okay and doing well. John Benson was a moderator for S.S.S. when I left the group years ago and the question raises questions. Whatever happened to Barrister, Belle and many other moderators? Don Croyle has stories on this site, Domino has stories, Many other members of S.S.S. have input on this site but I have to wonder how many here were there when S.S.S. was in it's heyday before newsgroups became wiped out. Who were here when we had the big moderator flame wars. Who were there during the Amy/Croyle coup? Where is the beloved Papa? Well, I do see CK is here, The man starting this thread, LAsilverfox may still be here, at least I hope so, and several others such as socalswitchyguy, etc, etc. Speak up if you will, I'm sure I've missed some and also feel that others may have changed their names. 15 or 20 years ago, S.S.S was what's happening with spanko's on the W.W.W.

I'm here. Sadly, life progressed and I had less time to write as well as issues with depression. Not to mention getting real down when I posted some work on spanking tube (they state you can have your own blog) and one individual threatened to beat me up for posting.

I was on SSS for a while back in 99-2001. Does anybody remember the brat revolt?

Re SSS. Yes I remember the brat revolt. Many SSS members can be found at Fetlife though some under new names. I wish we had some sort of ' Welfare check ' to see if old friends were still kicking. There are many people I'm curious about, like KFR.

@tyrport What do you remember of the writing. I was one of the ones involved with several entries starting with the netted motorcycle and spanking of a young brat to help end the revolt. Were you involved?

Vague memories. I was mostly lurking at the time. Google used to have an archive of most newsgroups which you could search in, but I can't find it anymore. They removed it with Froogle etc.... perhaps it's still out there somewhere as they don't like throwing things away.

I hope all is well with you now. I miss your writing, Continuing Education should be a book IMHO.

Apparently they declined in popularity, I do remember that AOL (my internet service at the time) simply stopped providing a newsgroup reader to its clients perhaps a dozen years ago.

It was possible for me to connect to the SSS newsgroup via Google, however it was a more complex and troublesome way to do so.

The great advantage of SSS was its capacity to have multi-party discussions of individual posted stories, something which the "Comments" feature in this Library isn't suited to. (It could technically occur here in the Forum, yet it doesn't actually seem to.)

Well, I do have fond recollections of that newsgroup and some of its key contributors--especially Julie (Julnick), who offered the first comment I ever received on my spanking-oriented writing...

SSS is what got me writing stories, there was a lot of encouragement there and a lot of crazy, too. It was nice to see familiar names pop up here. I also wonder who I am talking to half the time, and if I know them from another internet time. Still, even when I was on SSS there was nothing stopping anyone from changing their persona and reentering as someone new. It made that place both safe and unsafe.

I recall getting a personal phone call from my cable service telling me that "newsgroup" access would soon be ended. (did they know where I posted? did they know who I was?) and then the technician said .. "you can always get your news from other sources - like cnn.com - and I laughed, since obviously they had no idea what a newsgroup was. It was strange though that they personally called me before I got disconnected.

I can tell you that my good friend Domino passed away this past winter. Also, my close young friend PP (pucker princess) died a few years back. I'm so sorry for the sad news. Both things have taken the winds out of my sails for a while now.

edit for clarity ... The domino I mentioned above who passed away was the SSS newsgroup person domino, a female from the UK. .. not the Domino /male who posts story here, sorry for any confusion I might have caused.
