Personally, I have much less of a problem with the idea of inserting a piece of soap into the culprit´s backdoor than I have with the idea of putting soap into the culprit´s mouth!

I know someone that carves soap blocks into appropriate shapes for that use. Anyone tried one?

Happened to me and my siblings in the early 90's in the Northeast. Usually from age 3 until about 12, although it was very rare in those later years, mostly from about 4-6. We got several pumps of hand soap in the mouth, and depending on how bad we had been would either have to swallow or could spit it out after holding it for a few minutes. It was quite nasty!

I don't know that it was common but it was definitely a threat. I did know of a few kids who got it though. My administrative assistant in the mid 80s said her mom did it when she was young ( and she was only about 20 when she worked for me). In her case her mom squirted a dab of liquid soap then took the kitchen sprayer and worked up some suds. Even though she could spit after she said the taste lasted for hours.

Interesting to note the shift from the traditional bar of soap to the more modern liquid soap.
I'd have thought that making children actually swallow soap would simply result in vomiting.

Soap in mouth even without swallowing is lunacy, only time soap used internally was in enemas, and we all know result of those, soap is a anti bacterial do we honestly want good gut bacteria killed off, NO, inside of mouth, throat and oesophagus not designed to cope with irritants like soap, and god forbid if it was inhaled.

Well ECT can simulate mouth soaping re frothing at mouth, if administered as in the film unmodified without anaesthesia, muscle relaxants etc.

Now are you going to take your medication....?

If Hollywood were to shoot a scene with an extended and realistic mouth soaping with the foaming and all the trappings what would they substitute for the soap? white choc with a foaming agent? What would the special effects people come up with?
