Elorac, I know how you feel as it relates to keeps no our desires under wraps in fear of being ridiculed and rejected. I've personally gone through this, so I know first hand just how harmful it can be. If not my own relationship with my beloved wife, she is aware of my proclivities and has been over knee on a few occasions. However, many St of these sessions were mild foreplay that always seemed to spice things up, but I knew that it wasn't all that I wanted to explore with her. For the first time in my life, I actually wanted to be over a lap instead of being the Top, just to shake things up. I can only attest thus to the fact that I love her and trust her completely and was able to open up about it. I do feel that there are times that instead of arguing about this or that, we could solve it by dishing out a firm, long, good old fashioned spanking that would clear the air. Only people like us can even begin to understand that for some, spanking in certain settings isn't just a "weird kink", but something altogether different

Is spanking a secret in my relationship? Absolutely not! My wife and I have been together for 31 yrs. and I did hide my proclivities for the first ten. When I finally came out to her, she said she wasn't interested in being spanked but would be more than happy to take the top. I really feel that delivering a spanking or receiving one, could solve many issues between couples! If only more people were willing to accept it, to deliver or receive, many problems could be averted!

Good to read all your comments, thanks for joining in. Good that it is open in a lot of relationships, but I emphasise with those that like me are in a relationship that is not so open. As for having an honest and open discussion with my wife, I have tried that, but she never can talk about her desires and fantasies, says she doesn't have any, so nothing to act out !

My spouse is so vanilla that she could open her own ice cream company. She knows of my interest, but, it will never happen.

True, so true. I also reckon it could save a fortune in anti-depressants and sleeping tablets. The therapeutic benefits of spanking - for both parties involved - are so evident, it should be prescribed on the NHS....

Philk, shall we start a petition to the government to have a prescription for spanking on the NHS then? Maybe one of the parties may have this hidden in their manifesto? They would definitely get my vote if they did!
