A cute poem that could be cuter

used to...... what? used to...... what?

Then I turned around
and over my knee; pants pulled down
like his mother used to do.

I know that one as:

There was a young lad from japan
Whose limericks never would scan
when asked why this was
he said "it's because"
"I always try to cram just as many words in to the last line as I possibly can"

My version:

He didn't like the casserole
and he didn't like my cake.
He said my biscuits were too hard,
not like his mother used to make.

I didn't make the coffee right,
he didn't like my stew,
I didn't fold his pants,
the way his momma used to do.

I pondered for an answer.
I was looking for a clue.
Then I spanked him with a paddle,
as his mother used to do.

The whole poem actually reminds me of an amusing George Jones and Tammy Wynette duet which they did when they were married. It's called 'If God Met You' and the tagline sung by Tammy goes: 'If God met you, She wouldn't like you...'

Of course you're all wrong. The correct ending of that poem should be:

I pondered for an answer.
I was looking for a clue.
Then I offered him a paddle,
To use on my bottom
As my mother used to do.

Of course. Why did no-one notice that?

How about for the last three lines:

I turned around
And smacked him hard
like his mother used to do

I see the issue with the meter
I find "Then" to be unnecessary if you want it to be smooth when you deliver the punch.
