No, Dudley was more likely inspired by Sgt Preston of the RCMP. Which brings back sappy childhood memories of my family sitting in the living room listening to "Challenge Of The Yukon" on Canadian radio before we had a television. (Yes, I'm showing my age here. But we are talking history. Right?)

I've always had JFK down as a spanker. With the likes of Marilyn Monroe and his wife Jackie at his beck and call who could blame him. Both women used to come across as fiesty and would have benefitted by a trip across the Presidential lap in the Oval Office.
