(There - have I presented myself sufficiently as a grumpy curmudgeon?)

Certainly, njrick.

It may be worth pointing out that the title comes from a wonderful Mike Leigh film of that name. If you haven't seen it and can stand the fact that there's no spanking, I recommend you find it.

I perfectly remember that film, the mother who was weeping almost all along the film, and the black daughter played by Marianne Jean-Baptiste (previously starring in Bagdad Café and later as a policewoman in the series The Shield).
Emotions ran high as everyone's secrets were gradually exposed.

"Secrets amd Lies" sounds like the working philosophy of just about every government.

Is spanking Mr. Snowden a right entry for that theme?

Done correctly, that could be brilliant! (The KGB sends a dominatrix to his airport hotel room. Nothing is heard from either for several days.)

And I would add personal enrichment.

Guy:
I think the LSF may be suffering from a case of the summer doldrums.

That's noticeable in the commenting as well

islandcarol:
I see this site is still rocking!

The LSF rocks even when it's in the doldrums.
