A question about Alex Birch

I was fortunate enough to meet Alex for a few hours (and a pub lunch) in the City of Bath, along with another FC devotee, in the year before he left us all. A truly charming man and a great loss in so many ways. I think he was pleased by the story I wrote in which Alex was the main character. My fantasy about his predilection!

It's pleasing to note that people's opinions continue to be admiring - a true immortal.

I remember that meeting in Bath. I had hoped to come down to see my Mum and meet you and Alex. Unfortunately Mum was taken into hospital and I missed meeting Alex. We also intended to meet if Southampton played his beloved West Bromwich Albion, but that regrettably never materialised either.
