Accepting spankings

In trying to come up with a new idea for a story, I found myself pondering this question; while we can all think of many good reasons to give someone a spanking, what reasons are there (in the modern era when any spanking can be considered assault and almost all potential spankees know this) for someone to accept a spanking? So far I've come up with:

1) In return for some inducement - money, status, promotion etc

2) To avoid a worse fate - losing a job, legal prosecution, their secret revealed etc

3) By previous agreement - a lost bet, failing to honour an agreement, not reaching some goal or target etc

4) Obedience to authority - either believing that the authority is just, or that no choice exists

5) As a means to an end - for example, in my story '...Perfect!' Emily takes a paddling so she can show a red bottom in a photograph.

6) Self-sacrifice - to save someone else from taking it

7) Emotional reasons - curiosity, guilt, sexual excitement, a desire to belong etc

Can anyone think of any more?

You hit pretty much all of the most common and sensible ones, myrkassi. I can add a couple from my own fiction.

8) Because its a school sport.

9) Because its in the job description.

Both pretty surreal, but then, this website is for fiction. Oh hey, I can think of one possible other as well:

10) As a treat for the spanker.

11) because he/she craves it!

duh!

I'm pretty sure that falls under 7.

12) because he or she wants their name to become famous and they want to start off by getting published in the KLSF!!

13) Just because...no reason..they are into spanking and that is all there is to it

14) For LSF story research. The author wants to know what a REAL spanking with various implements feels like for him/herself... before s/he writes his/her story... for the purpose of realism.

I guess one could say this kinda falls under the umbrella of number 5 (a means to an end) but I think the whole aspect of spanking research would involve both mental and physical engagement in the task. ie: even if the author wanted to, he or she couldn't attempt to tune out what was happening to their bottom because they have to take mental notes!

15) Because it's paid for

Some interesting suggestions there, though I think 11) comes under 7) and 12) and 15) are covered by 1). I've thought of another one myself - To comply with ritual or custom - ie birthday spankings, initiation rituals, Czech Easter customs etc

16] Contrition, remorse, or guilt and so wanting to "wipe the slate clean" and receive forgiveness. (7 touched on guilt.)

17--Because the person is ignito and the role they are playing demands it

18--To create a distraction so that someone else can do something and not be noticed

19---To gain entry to a place or organization so that they can perform a mission

I think I have at one time or another used all 19 (even 12--LSF The Movie). In fact the last story I published used 4, 6 and 16.
