I thought everyone my age had corner time growing up. I was often int he corner in school, the last time when I was in the eighth grade. At home standing in the corner was often given before and after a spanking, before to give mom or dad a chance to calm down and after so "I could think about what I did to get spanked." but I was always fully clothed at home. I had a friend whose parents believed that some shame should be part of punishment, so even though they spanked in private, corner time was done in the front room, where the child getting spanked had to strip down to his or her underwear before a spanking, was called into the den for their spanking then after the spanking had to go back to the corner and pull their underwear down for post spanking corner time. Friends were given the same punishment.

Had it as a punishment separate from spanking, but not combined. In first grade (Catholic school) one teacher would draw a circle on the chalkboard that you had put your nose in. This was the mid 1970s.

Corner time is still used now as a punishment for kids. Some people refer to it as the 'naughty corner' or the 'naughty step', it's often referred to as a time out, but what it really is corner time.

I find corner time an amusing accompaniment to a spanking situation, although not for the one being spanked. For me it is the humiliation factor, ideally a girl should be made to stand holding her skirt up and without her panties, or if she is naked with her hands clasped behind her head. She will be required to stand there with her well punished bare bottom on display and even if guests arrive she will have to remain there for them to see, as this will add considerably to her shame. As an addition to corner time a pointed dunce's cap could be placed upon her head, being forced to wear this ridiculous headgear would serve to increase the embarrassment of her situation.

Corner time is a natural part of school stories. Teachers who were able to spank would despatch pupils to a corner after the spanking. Both boys and girls had their pants down and the girls had their skirts rolled up. Bare red bottoms were on view for the class and any visitors. A refinement that displayed the pupil even more directly would be to have the pupil kneel on a chair right next to the teacher's desk facing the front so that the bare bottom would be on display. Many online photos of male and female spankees show them in this position following a spanking.

My most vivid memory of wall time was was watching a spider catching a wasp while waiting for my turn with coach in the girls locker room.

I was never sent to the corner or to face a wall. My late wife remembered corner time at the age of 8. She took pride in the fact that she still somehow managed to see what was on TV.

I haven't written a story for the library yet (I'm currently writing my fourth story) that doesn't include a teenage girl spending time in the corner. In mainstream fiction Dennis The Menace and Nancy are famous for spending lots of time in the corner. In the comic strip Blondie the daughter, Cookie, has been sent to the corner more than once.

In a letter found in two newspaper advice columns (yes this particular letter made it into not one but two different columns) a young man writes that he is dismayed by the fact that on several occasions when he has arrived to visit his 17 year old girlfriend at her home he has found her being punished by having to stand facing the corner, he is told by a parent, "Ruth will be able to see you in about ten minutes."

In the early 1970s The BBC ran an 8 part series called The Edwardians, at least some of the episodes (altered) ended up on Masterpiece Theatre in the U.S. In an episode dedicated to the story of Frederick Royce of Rolls/Royce fame we find that Royce and his wife are raising her teenage niece. Mrs. Royce phones Frederick at work (in the U.S. version) to tell him, in part, that the girl has been very rude. "I sent her to the corner with...(some kind of lucky something she was allowed to hold in the corner)." Mr. Royce, "She's 17 years old. I suppose you want me to come home and spank her?" Mrs. Royce, "Something needs to be done." But that's the end of that part of the conversation. We don't know if he spanked the girl when he arrived home or not. I assume this has some historical accuracy to it and wasn't just thrown in to slow down the main plot.
