Not everyone wishes, wants or needs to comment on what they have read, its a personel thing. If on the other hand you want to make, making a comment a necessity for the use of the Library thats ok.

I think we've just about explained this to death by now but for the sake of clarity I'll go over it one more time. If you don't want to comment you don't have to but those members who have viewed over 500 stories without a single comment will find they have a limit on how many stories they can view a day. Based on actual feedback received I think the vast majority of readers find this an entirely reasonable stance to take. It takes a couple of seconds to make a comment and we spend hours EVERY day making material available for the likes of yourself to read. Ultimately, it's your choice .. you can show some appreciation of the author's generosity in making their works freely available by commenting once every 500 stories read (as a minimum) or make do with limited access. Either way, no-one is actually forcing you to do anything.

What I find frustrating is that I keep getting messages restricting my use of the library to a very small number of items per 24 hours, if you really want my comments let me read the stories!

To date you've read 1,725 stories and commented on none which is why you are limited. As I've also explained previously you don't have to be viewing a story in order to comment, you can comment on any story at ANY time by simply clicking the comment icon wherever the story is listed. Suggest try reading the Help section and not just the stories.

Another point of disagreement is that I have now tried to leave comments where I can but they do not seem to register--why is this?

As I haven't seen the comments you refer to I can't really say but if you simply commented "nice story" all the time then they've probably been removed.

Well, this policy is clearly resulting in more commentary and that in turn appears to be resulting in more stories being posted. I consider it a pretty liberal policy, one meaningful comment (presumably at least one full sentence) per 500 stories read hardly seems very demanding.

While I don't believe that amateur authors (of spanking stories or otherwise) on the 'net write primarily to get readers' feedback, it's a nice touch and AFAIC it is genuinely encouraging. Februs and the other site administrators and story validators are also commiting considerable time and energy to this spanking-oriented library, so readers are benefitting from their efforts as well as those of the writers--so I'm presuming adequate feedback on stories can encourage them too via creating a sense of appreciation of this library as a whole.

IMHO the comments can create a good "give-and-take" on occasion, if a reader remarks on what he/she likes it's possible that an author might end up incorporating that into a story at some time--that won't always happen, obviously, because writers have their own particular fetishes and focuses, but feedback at least makes it a possibility.

It's like being able to give or receive a spanking in RL (as opposed to many of the stories here wherein spankings are frequent occurrences)--it's unlikely to happen unless/until one communicates about it to the other party involved, but then it at least might take place...

You can still comment on a story - one of the 500 you have already read - by going to the author page, or anywhere else the story is listed, and clicking the comment icon.

You can still read stories if you have read 500, you just have a lower daily limit than those who do comment but it doesn't affect your ability to comment.

I'm not a fan of making people do anything, but if you can find the time to read 500 stories then you can probably make time to say a few words about at least one of them. I don't write to garner comments, but it is nice to see some acknowledge that they read the story once in a while.

Ok I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this but I will anyway. My problem is different. What do you do if you go to leave a comment, on a story that has a lot of comments already, and it's full? No comment box at the bottom of the page. I hope that makes sense. Thanks.

We'll ask Februs to look into it. Can you let us know which story it is please?

Thanks

Hi Flopsy. It was one of yours. Country life. I left a comment a while ago for the first chapter but it didn't have room for the second when I tried a little while ago. Now it won't let me open the comment box at all. Thanks. Sorry to be a pain.

I can't reproduce any of the above problems. Are you sure it wasn't caused by the site running slow so that you were waiting for the page to display in full? I'd suggest trying again and if there's still a problem then get back to us and I'll look into it further.
