canadianspankee:
By the way, not everyone ranted and raved, I know there were offers to help you out so cut the crap and just do what is required or else suffer the consequences. You clearly have the intelligence to learn and do what is required, so just do it and quit whining.
Your post demonstrates that you either didn't read or ignored my post (quite surprising considering the context this conversation is occurring in... a digital library) I never said
everyone ranted and raved. I
haven't been whining. I made
one aside comment about what I believe is a bad policy, and many members of the community pounced on me. I said
quite clearly in my post that "I am here for one reason only. How can I view stories to comment on as a "Limited User"?".
FebrusFebrus:
Well if you make a derogatory comment towards a large number of people in one go, especially those who are providing you with something for nothing, there's usually a less than positive response.
But
I didn't make any derogatory comment. I said that I didn't like the policy, that I thought it was silly. But that doesn't constitute an insult to anyone.
For example, I could say that I think Obamacare in the United States is a bad policy (again, just a example). That doesn't constitute an attack on the american people, the country, or even the president himself. It just means I don't like the policy.
Finally, I'd like to thank Februs for helping solve my problem. Though now that I'm stepping into being a helpful member of this community, I feel that I should say that I think most members of our community would appreciate it if technical support advice wasn't always coupled with insults and derogatory statements.
