I read most of Piers Anthony’s work years ago, but eventually got a bit bored of it. I can’t believe he’s still writing Xanth. Book #45 is due out later this month.

Sadly, I was the same way. After a while I just fell away from it. I didn't even know he was still writing them, but it makes sense. He called those his easy money books. He just cranks out one and the checks come in. They are relaxing for him.

There's an anime/manga/light novel genre called isekai, which involves someone from the real world being sent to a fantasy realm, often one taking place in a game, like an MMO. Sword Art Online, Overlord, My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom, Do You Love Your Mom and Her Two-Hit Multi-Target Attacks, Tanya the Evil, Rising of the Shield Hero, etc. There are tons of them. It's one of the more popular genres right now. The characters often talk in game terms during them, referring to Levels, Spell Levels, and other stats.
