What about Elizabeth Bennett putting her silliest younger sister over her knee? Their mother was too stupid to do it and it may have prevented the elopement with Mr Wickham. This is from Pride and Prejudice.

Absolutely, Elizabeth is certainly feisty enough, and probably, though this thread doesn't allow for it she could probably spank some of the stiffness from Mr Darcy.

In Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell, the black nanny/governess Mammy tells the young-adult Scarlett something along the lines of "Ah done wupped you before and I cain do it agin," which unfortunately doesn't happen in the novel.

Still, it's fun to imagine the self-satisfied, high-spirited Scarlett being spanked bare-bottom-up via Mammy's heavy, smacking palm while bent over that wide lap as a young girl, then later as a preteen or early teenager getting a good bare-bottomed country lickin' from Mammy with a willow switch or leather strap.

Sadly, such an account could no longer be written for publication in this Library, thus we can only dream about it...

A couple of tragic spankings:

I can see Goneril and Regan tormenting an innocent Cordelia, passing her from lap to lap using an array of nasty dark-age implements while the self-absorbed King Lear is off preening his regal feathers, quite unaware what's happening to his favourite daughter.

And was Ophelia's suicide perhaps an accident? Portrayed lying face-up in a stream, it's not impossible she slipped and drowned while trying to cool her throbbing backside after a spanking from Queen Gertrude for failing to keep Hamlet entertained.

Kyle Onstott used to include mentions of spankings in his books about the south, pre Civil War. One of the slaves, called Lucretia Borgia spanked her twins daily and there was talk of having her spank one of the full grown male slaves as well.

If we're going to toss around Harry Potter characters as candidates then I would put a vote in for Dolores Umbridge. She was a simpering vindictive administrator who posted numerous rules and punished anyone who broke them. I can picture the smirk on her face as she enjoys every moment of making a student squeal.

There was a scene where a couple are kissing on a bench and she walks by and slams them apart from each other to opposite ends. If that was something she could do with a flick of her wrist, then it wouldn't be hard to imagine a girl scurrying through the hall suddenly finding herself bent over in midair with her robe floating out of the way while Umbridge conjures up something to wallop her with. After all, her wand was made of birch, which seems appropriate under the circumstances (no, I didn't have that trivia memorized, I just saw it mentioned when I Googled how to spell her name...).

Of course Hogwarts would have to be equal opportunity, so I guess Snape would have enjoyed punishing the boys ("Mr. Potter...").

Sansa and Cersei from A Song of Ice and Fire would make decent spankers. Cersei could take daughter-in-law Margaery over her knee and Sansa could do something similar to her young charge and nephew Robin Arryn. She does dream of spanking him actually, understandable as he's a horrid kid.

I would still go for Eve. As the mother daughter relationship becomes more developed, it should be allowed to reach its natural conclusion.
