Well I probably have some idea but i certainly have no idea how i am going to get there. Many of my stories refer to a previous story or else have a loose end that can be picked up later

Hi All

It rather depends on the story. Sometimes you only have an ending to start from. Also sometimes you have story and it just gets told.

But in situational writing sometimes the characters take on a life of their own or what you thought was going to be interesting doesn't work - so new directions suggest themselves.

I usually have the story plotted out in a general manner, but sometimes new directions for the story line occur to me during the writing of it--and 95% of the time that it happens, the changes result in more strenous and/or more extended and/or more embarrassing corporal correction for the spanking recipient(s) involved.

Rarely do I dramatically change an intended ending, but it sometimes seems like a 'diabolical' disciplinarian character develops a mind of her own and decides that my original idea RE the length, intensity and/or embarrassment factor of the punishment that she (and/or her 'sisterly' spankers) will be administering isn't sufficient for her toppish tastes--especially if her (their) spanked victim unexpectedly misbehaves further during a punitive session.

Ahhhh, those strict, assertive females--got to love them, even the fictional ones... --C.K.

I see it all in my head, I 'live' it all, before I start writing. I always know the story arc and the main scenes. But as I write I often find subplots growing, secondary characters are added, some of them don't behave the way I intend - that's part of the fun. And sometimes a short story grows, and grows....

But I always know roughly how it's all going to finish.

Yeah, what Rue said.

i think that, in this particular genre of writing, the authors must , first, take into account the reader's expectations about the story's development and direction, every creative innovation must no forget that the spanking story is constructed around a spanking scene.

That's no problem at all. I find that ANYTHING I write naturally points to a spanking. Several years ago, when I tried to write some mainstream fiction, and I would always get to a point where I felt a spanking would be a good way to resolve things. Needless to say, I quickly gave up the notion that I could write anything other than spanking ficition. (To be honest, I haven't totally given it up, but for now it remains strictly a fantasy).

i think that the author of a spanking story does'nt feel a sort of inferiority complex in order to writing something strange and bizarre ( in opposition to this feeling often he try to pass across a mainstream genre of fiction).
i think that a good writer is a good writer and a good spanking (or more generally erotic) story is 0ften more communicative than a mainstream fiction

njrick, If you can write spanking fiction I would think you could write mainstream fiction. It's just a matter of finding something that inspires you as much as spanking does.
