The way things are going, this month (even though it's a 31-dayer) looks like it may be the first month since October 2010 to rate fewer than 2000 comments. Back then the LSF had just over 6000 members; today it has damn near 15,000.

So what's happening? Are we succumbing to surfeit, disenchantment or just plain indolence? It's a sad comedown from the glorious month of November 2012 when comments hit just under 5400. Friends, fellow-spankos, let's at least avoid the shame of an under-2000 monthly tally. I'm planning to comment, right now, on at least ten items. Who's with me?

It is spring and people get busy with lots of other things. The ladies are out without their heavy coats on and so the men are perhaps too busy watching the ladies...LOL. Or perhaps every one is too busy getting the Challenge stories ready to roll.

As far as commenting goes, I am responsible for myself and how I contribute to the KLSF. How others choose to contribute is entirely their choice and so it should be. I love the comments I get on my stories and hope by commenting that others remember to comment as well. That is all we can do as far as commenting goes I am afraid.

The forum is a great place, but it has never been successful at getting many to comment, and likely never will be. Take heart everyone and do what you can, this place is still the best place for spankings in the world.

CS, with a record 7770 comments to your credit, you're an example to us all.

I can't recall the last story I read, I think it was a couple months ago. I did comment but I find reading in the popup pane a pain so I've stopped reading most things unless it's something that really grabs my attention.

And here I am making an effort to read and comment on a few things most days.

There is something bizarre about CS suggesting excuses for non-commentators: if ever anyone led by example it would have to be CS. However, I don't buy his women taking off their winter clothing theory - March 2014 did not seem to see such a marked reduction in comments. But maybe the ladies are taking off more clothes this year and I just haven't noticed! My own off the wall theory is it may have something to do with commenting on other sites, which seems to involve nothing more than clicking a 'like' button, making people lazy. However, I hope we never go down that route. Personally I would rather have a one-sentence comment than a thousand meaningless likes.

(I do not understand DarkRiver's popup comment. I see the KLSF full-screen, so it must be a function of the device he is using. Perhaps someone could advise as I imagine being confined to a pop-up window would be very irritating).

I do try and comment on everything I do read, some of the stories just do not attract my attention as much.

This is such a sad situation I cannot even begin to comment on it.

I am not making excuses for anyone....lol

All I am saying is that sometimes I get tired of reading about commenting on the Forum as it has been discussed many times, everything that could be said has been said many times and it seems to do absolutely no good as far as getting non-commenting readers to comment.

All I say that if one is concerned about the number of comments then the only thing we can positively do is comment more ourselves. I know this month I have increased my own number of comment to try to make up some of the slack.

Personally I wish the commenting ratio on this site would decrease but that is an admin decision and I am sure Februs knows what he is doing and I may not be in the know about all the factors.

So as I said before, I encourage everyone to do what they can and as the famous saying goes ...if you build it they will come... and that will work for comments as well IMHO
