For me, it depends on the kind of unfairness - I find stories in which an innocent spankee's objections to being punished are just overruled or ignored by a spanker who uses his position of authority or power to punish them, even though he knows they are innocent, to be simply bullying, and a bit of a turn-off in most cases. On the other hand, tricking someone into a situation where they have to accept a spanking they may not have deserved usually gets my admiration for a clever trick.

I've just joined the spanking library.

I find the concept of unfairness of in spanking and caning stories a real turn up whether school, domestic or office based stories.

In school stories the unfair and underserved caning. Whether mistaken identity or a lecherous male prefect, teacher or headmaster trumping up or fabricating misbehaviour or misdemeanours because they, out of lust and for amusement, want to be able to have a voluptuous 6th form girl touching her toes and then take her knickers down to reveal her ample girlish bottom and then to well cane it.

Amusing stories are when notes are mixed up and a girl is sent to the head with an innocuous note but it somehow becomes mixed up or is misread purposely or by the head. The girl is then bent over and soundly caned.

I tend to like a degree of unfairness not only in stories by in my own experiences as well. There just seems to be something very sexy of being in a position where the figure in authority exploits their dominance to some degree. This is heightened in adult relationships and stories about them.

In the case of couples where only one partner is spanked, there is already an well-established dynamic of what could be considered 'unfairness' by some. ( "How come if I do that I get spanked, but if you do it you don't?" ) This unfairness is usually then justified by the overall appropriateness of the couple's dynamic. ( "I'm the spanker in this relationship, not you. That's why." ) I love this one-sided dynamic, both in my own life and in stories.

Now if you take that overall imbalance of power and tickle it some more with a spanking that itself is also a bit unfair.........perhaps a no-win scenario for the submissive partner, or better yet a spanking given more to show who's boss rather than to punish a particular offence......you really have something delicious brewing. I love/hate when I end up in a situation I cannot win, particularly if my Honey admits openly that the situation is indeed unfair..............but that the fact it's unfair will not save me.

The only unfairness I tend to dislike in both life and stories, are emotion-based punishments for things that are misunderstood. That is never a good scenario.

@kdpierre

Excellent analysis of this dynamic.

Some stories with unfair punishments I've enjoyed so far are.

A Painful Demonstration by BrianV
The new cane by Flogmaster
Interlude In The Headmaster's Office (the first story) by ruegirl

Any more like these anyone could recommend?

IMHO KD Pierre does these well, although they're basically F/M (which appeals to me but not to everyone):

"Pride" (They're both part of the problem, but the solution is decidedly one-sided although effective.)
"The Arrangement" (Hubby at first just wants to be spanked occasionally, but once the balance starts tipping...)
"The Friend" (This is more about social equals becoming decidedly unequal, the spanking itself is barely mentioned in passing.)

I dislike an unfair punishment when the person administering it is arrogant and bullying, they classic "Because I said so!" intimidation tactic.

I enjoy a situation in which a one-sided punitive relationship results in a chastisement that would otherwise be unfair, but the spanker points out that he/she is operating legitimately within their agreement/understanding.

I also appreciate a situation in which one person has been given the authority to paddle the other's behind "just to show who's boss," leaving the spankee helpless to effectively argue or protest--as long as the person delivering the swats isn't crude and/or overbearing about imposing his/her punitive will.

"I'm not saying you did anything wrong, honey, I'm simply going to give you a compelling reminder regarding who spanks whom in our relationship..." --C.K.

I really enjoy F/M stories where the somewhat innocent young man is given a severe and unfair punishment, but my built in sense of justice is bothered when there is no balancing of the scales (which is the case in virtually all of these stories i have read). Some of the LSF books in that direction are "My Tutor" and "Recollections of a Spanked Schoolboy" both of which have severe and unfair spankings.

Or tangentially, when they punish someone for something that they're equally guilty of doing. For example, in a story of mine call "Smoking is Stamped Out at St. Swithan's," the Headmistress brings in 7 innocent girls 1 at a time, falsely accuses them all of smoking (using the same pack of cigarettes), and beats them into giving up the names of girls they knew were really smoking. Then when she was finished she sat in her office and lit up a cigarette to celebrate her success.
