I hadn't realized that, and i am very sorry to hear it. I just read through the long thread on the "Act of Revenge" challenge. I can understand why Februs and Flopsy found some of the discussions of scoring systems excessive and unwelcome.

I will say that I submitted stories to two or three of the challenges. i never was one of the listed winners, but I very much enjoyed the process, and the larger than usual list of comments that challenge stories tended to draw. I never cared all that much how exactly challenges were scored, or even if they were.

I hope that Februs and Flopsy will choose at some point to reinstate the challenges, perhaps with an agreement not to debate scoring systems. I understand that they must have been quite a lot of work. I would offer to take some of that on, but I don't see how anyone could without getting fairly low-level access to the server. But if there was a way for others to take on at least some of the work of resumed challenges, I suspect that a number of members would be very willing.

There are some pretty good paddle-making stories from Daria Little. Check out Dusty & Debby Part 8, and Screaming Eagles Part 17, 20-23.

I really feel badly that people took the contest so seriously. I never read more than 7 stories so my votes were unfair, IF I TOOK IT THAT SERIOUSLY. The idea of contests are to get people excited to write. It is exactly as advertised A CHALLENGE.

I am extremely grateful for the site we have. When it is gone we will all ha e a hole in our lives.
