Janine:
Her loss is a poignant reminder how even 'virtual' friendships can touch lives in the 'real' world. She will be sorely missed. RIP Barb.

Once again, words that are so true, Janine. She certainly touched my life for real. RIP Barb.

Like many others, I knew barb though her numerous comments on my stories. It was always a pleasure read what she had to say. May she rest in peace.

This is incredibly sad news. Barb was such a gentle soul, and a superb LSF member. She was always one of my favorite readers for her many supportive comments. She is already missed.

What a terrible development! I knew her through her comments, mostly, including many kind comments on my own efforts. We had a few interactions on the popups and I remember asking her if she was "the" Barb (the artist Barbara O'Toole) and she thought that was funny (and set me staight on that question). She will be missed.

RIP, Barb.

She kindly commented on every story I ever posted and her words were always positive and thoughtful. She will be sadly missed.

Can I say, it is lovely to see a photo of her. Now, when we all have fond memories, we can actually picture her smiling face.

Sleep peacefully Barb.

I am deeply saddened by this news. In her last comment to me she said she was in need of a good laugh. It sounds all the more poignant now. We have all lost a good friend, but hopefully her family can take comfort from knowing she is now at peace.

Barb was a very special person, a wonderful friend, and a faithful reader and commenter, always so supportive and uplifting. I think she was the top commenter for many of us, She had told me how sick she was and how she hated that she couldn't be here to read as much as she wanted, but hearing of her passing is still a shock. We are never prepared for this kind of news. I was just thinking a few days ago that I needed to ask about her. I miss her SO very much, but her pain has ended now.
